This has been a relatively mediocre season of Weeds. A comedy is supposed to be funny and this season hasn't exactly been loaded with humorous moments, or even great dramatic moments. The season finale is something I've been both looking forward to seeing and been dreading at the same time. I wanted to see what was going to happen with Nancy and Esteban, but I hoped it wasn't going to be boring.
It wasn't boring... for the most part. ... Read More

Weeds delivered a solid episode this past Monday night with "Glue," which not only tried to address the goings on of Esteban, but encouraged a long-coming chat between Andy and Nancy. It was straight forward and harsh at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
One of the plots I was most interested in seeing was seeing what hell Celia was going to be put through by her daughter, Doug, and Dean. It was decided that Dean would dress ... Read More

Sometimes it amazes me how much Weeds manages to pack into an episode. They cover so many characters in such a short time. It's remarkable that they're able to progress a story in such a short period of time.
Nancy continued with her visits with Guillermo in prison. She still wants him to have Pillar killed, but he wants something in return: a transfer to Mexico, which will allow him to slip out of prison and become a free man ... Read More

The gunshot incident was somewhat anticlimactic. Shane was never really in danger of losing his life. Everything was going to go just fine. If there was anything surprising about this incident, it would be the fact that the shooter was aiming at Nancy and not Esteban as I originally thought. And on top of that, it was Cesar who informed Pilar of Esteban's movements and Pilar was the one who organized the hit on Nancy.
It was only a ... Read More

Wow, hand it to Celia for being smart once again. It doesn't happen very often that the Weeds writers do anything good for this character. She's typically a dull, boring waste of space. However, at least she is now back in the mix with the other cast and I'm somewhat excited about it. We'll see how long this lasts...
While Celia may have cleverly come up with the idea to sell drugs with her makeup to the local women, ... Read More

The downturn of the economy has hit Weeds. Celia can't push her terrible cosmetics line and she can't wiggle her way out of the contract she agreed to sign. I thoroughly enjoyed that scene where Celia confronted the owner of the "You're Pretty" cosmetics company. The woman wasn't going to budge one bit.
Nancy and Esteban continued to have their fair share of differences, namely regarding the birth certificate. Pilar, the woman who seems to control Esteban threatened Nancy ... Read More

I wasn't sure if we would get to see the General Lee in the show after making its debut in the previous episode. It's one of my all-time favorite famous cars. In fact, I can't think of one that I like more. I liked Nancy's comment about how slow Andy was driving it.
Without a doubt Andy was the highlight of this episode. Not only were his conversations with Nancy great, but I always appreciate his long-winded summaries of ... Read More

I generally don't approve of the idea of shows taking leaps in time like this. With this episode, the Weeds story jumped ahead by six months. Nancy is definitely showing - she can't hide the fact that she is pregnant.
I'm also not liking Nancy very much now. She was rather arrogant during her prison visit with Guillermo. And then things didn't get any better when she told Andy about Esteban proposing. It was really uncomfortable to watch.
Demian ... Read More

When it comes to surprising viewers, Weeds' glory days are largely in its past. The few surprises are often overshadowed by really bad attempts to surprise viewers. This episode's failed attempt was the ending. They hinted at the family leaving the border, but really, that was never going to happen. I hate these kinds of teases.
Andy and Margaret's little story didn't go how I had imagined. There were some genuine surprises here. I wasn't expecting Andy ... Read More

"Super Lucky Happy" was a vast improvement over the last few episodes. We seem to finally be picking up a little steam and the show is adding some good drama again. The drama with Nancy's new bodyguard and the DEA agent was excellent. Who should live, who should die, and why the hell is the guy getting an erection?!
In all seriousness, "Super Lucky Happy" was a great episode in comparison to the first three episodes. It wasn't perfect, ... Read More
