Holy season finale, Batman!
I'm almost always disappointed with season finales, but this time around, I really liked some of the things we got with True Blood's conclusion to season four. Not only did some stories get wrapped up, but entirely new ones took shape, making for a rather eventful episode.
I'm going to start off with the whole mess with Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), Hoyt (Jim Parrack), and Jason (Ryan Kwanten). I had hoped Hoyt would take the news like a ... Read More

There was a lot of stuff building up to this point. In addition to everything involving Sookie (Anna Paquin), Marnie (Fiona Shaw), and the vampires, we had a ton of story going on outside the main characters. Where to begin, where to begin?!
Let's go with the Bellefleur family. After getting left alone, Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) had quite a trip home. I haven't a damn clue where this story is going, but I couldn't help but envy him ... Read More

Wow, "Burning Down the House" really changed things for the main characters. Sookie's (Anna Paquin) fairy powers broke the spell on Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) so he's back to normal, but their relationship is certainly not the same now. Now that Eric is himself, Sookie doesn't see him quite in the same light. Much of that has to do with Marnie's (Fiona Shaw) attempt to kill Bill (Stephen Moyer). Sookie can't bare to think of a world without Eric ... Read More

Holy smokes, what an episode! True Blood's storytelling is really picking up the pace. If there wasn't enough action for you in this episode, I don't know what more you could have asked for.
Debbie's decision to drink vampire blood was a bit of a surprise. I knew she wasn't a completely transformed person. You don't become as screwed up as she was and simply return to a perfect person afterwards. She's definitely not doing what's right. ... Read More

After "Spellbound," it's hard to deny True Blood's ability to both make you laugh your ass off and be glued to the edge of your seat.
With the witch and vampire war ramping up, it came as no surprise to me that the big showdown in the Bon Temps graveyard wouldn't be that big of a deal. It obviously wasn't going to be the ultimate showdown between Antonia (Fiona Shaw) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). I wasn't expecting it to be.
What that ... Read More

I'm really excited to see Marnie's (Fiona Shaw) body being taken over by the dead witch, Antonia. Marnie is suddenly much more interesting now that she's got her little band of witch wannabes joining her to take down the vampires.
Some of the diaglogue between Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) got repetitive. They could have advanced another aspect of the story by covering something else. Instead, the writers basically did a copy and paste job with their script, ... Read More

Well the long wait is over. Jason Stackhouse's (Ryan Kwanten) dreaded full moon has come and gone and he's still good old Jason. Thank God! Jason's obviously not got the same issues as the supernatural characters, but I actually like that. Jason has enough problems of his own. He doesn't need "transforming into a werepanther" to be one of them.
Jason's story held my interest in large part due to the comedy involved. Sookie (Anna Paquin) couldn't ... Read More

I really enjoyed this episode. I know a lot of people felt this was mostly another typical filler episodes, but I felt there was a little more substance here than in some of the more recent episodes.
At this point in the season, I'm getting tired of hearing Lafayette whine on and on about big bad Eric Northman. He's been on this for several episodes and it's gotten tired. We're fully aware of what Eric was/is capable of. However, ... Read More

I'm certain I'm not the only one who's totally loving the new Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard). I busted out laughing at all of his antics in the first scene back. He was totally drunk, hitting on Sookie (Anna Paquin), grabbing her butt. It was totally inappropriate, but hilarious at the same time.
Sookie's been doing a fairly good job of keeping Eric from being found out by anyone, but I've got some serious concerns about her connection with Alcide (Joe ... Read More

The lack of Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) in the season until now wasn't something I felt I was missing, but after seeing him, I couldn't help but feel happy to see him again. I think Joe Manganiello does a terrific job of making Alcide feel like one of the few relatively grounded characters on the show. He may be a supernatural being (werewolf), but he's always struck me as a genuinely good person.
After seeing Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) in the ... Read More
