Jon starts off the show by talking about the Emmy awards the show received the other night. Jon mentioned the fact that now that he's won these, they'll be phoning in their work from now on. He said the same thing last year, and frankly, I thought the week or so after winning, the show did seem to drop in quality. We'll see what happens this year.
Jon wanted to get an update on what's going on with Hurricane Rita, so he went ... Read More

You could just see it in Jon's face that this was going to be a good episode when he started off the show. He was giddy about the whole Robert Novak cussing/walk off studio thing he did live on CNN.
After the Novak story, he got to get his jabs in at the media. There was a terrible plane crash in Toronto the other day, and every single anchor on every single channel keep referring to it as a "miracle", which is defined ... Read More

With NASA having problems, Jon can't help but offer his opinion that if he were in that situation, he'd be scared shi*less.
John got right to the news - King Fahd of Saudi Arabia passed away this past week. His health has been poor for the past few years, so it wasn't a surprising passing.
They used a "translator" for the King Fahd piece, which for some reason, just had to discuss the new set. Jon found that kind of ironic.
Stephen Colbert was up ... Read More

Tonight's episode didn't have a whole lot of news, which was good in this case. They jumped right into a segment with "Senior Jackologist", Ed Helms. This was very well written in my opinion. Ed delivered the lines perfectly. You'll find some of the quotes from this segment in the "Quotes" section in the episode information.
Stephen Colbert's "This Week in God" segment got a few laughs. One of his jokes completely bombed, which made it even more funny. You could see he ... Read More

This episode started with the Supreme Court news regarding marijuana. I couldn't believe one of the guys actually had bound editions of High Times. Jon Stewart also took notice of that.
Stephen Colbert's segment was probably the highlight of the night. He offered some good commentary on the underground bunker the Marines found. His little "Abu Cribs" video was short, but funny nonetheless.
Ed Helms had a segment tonight as well. He revisited a story that aired back in Feb 2003. Instead of handing ... Read More

Tonight's episode of the Daily Show was pretty good. Jon opened up with the on-going British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President George W. Bush relationship discussion. Many have said it seems to have gotten a little rocky. Because of Blair's stance on Iraq, he's not greated as warmly as he once was.
Jon's handling on the African aid issue was great. Tony Blair was looking for $25 Billion, and Bush only offered $674 Million.
The bit with Rob Corrdry was very short, although ... Read More
