I guess when I think about it, we really could have gone without certain things in this episode. The employees of Sacred Heart are running wild without a Chief of Medicine around to keep things under control. Dr. Cox ends up being the first choice to give the job to, but it’s not clear whether he’ll take the job by the end of the episode or not. Everyone at the hospital has a problem with Dr. Maddox who plays everything by the book, making it hard to work the system and save people’s lives. It’s odd, because Dr. Kelso did the same thing sometimes, but looked the other way more often then not. It’s only the second episode of the season and Scrubs gave us our first tear jerker of the season.
