This Friday's installment of PSYCH had me intrigued right from the start with the disappearance of Shawn Spencer. Gus and Juliet retraced Shawn's steps that may have gotten him to the junkyard where everyone gathered. With Shawn Spencer getting the bulk of the screen time on PSYCH, I try to cherish those moments where we get to take a glimpse into Gus' old days. As it turns out, Gus was part of an a cappella group in college with some familiar faces. The casting announcement that Sendhil Ramamurthy was going to be a part of this episode really excited me. I always did enjoy his work on Heroes, even though I no longer watch the show. Sendhil played a young Indian-American who seemed to be cursed with love. Anytime he got serious with a young woman something bad would happen to her. Wow, that was quite an episode of PSYCH. I loved the fact that sports are finally being introduced into the show. Seeing Shawn go through his formative years and never playing sports seems unrealistic given the fact that nearly every boy tried sports. The flashback scene was terrific. Shawn and Gus arrived at one of their old Catholic schools after hearing of a student who apparently committed suicide. The attitude of the two men was completely different. Gus was eager while Shawn was clearly disappointed. Gus promised the female students would be in traditional Catholic girl uniforms and that didn't turn out to be true at all. After seeing the promotional photos of James Roday dressed as a cowboy, I became immediately interested in seeing this episode. I'm a big fan of westerns so this was something I knew I was going to enjoy. Shawn and Gus got roped into an unusual assignment thanks to Lassiter. Lassiter asked them to help find who was responsible for the destruction of an old west town which is really just a tourist attraction. The owner of the town is one ... Read More

This week's PSYCH had one of my favorite guest characters return: Abigail, Shawn Spencer's new girlfriend. As you may remember, Abigail was 'the one that got away' from Shawn during high school when he passed up a date with her on account of him being more nervous than any other moment in his life. After watching, re-watching, and re-re-watching my PSYCH DVDs over the past several months, I was practically begging for this show to come back. It's strange because there is a lot of good stuff on television right now, but there's nothing on that is even in the same ballpark as PSYCH. This is one of the few PSYCH episode titles I honestly didn't like. They tend to be kind of funny, but this one sounds like it belongs with Monk. There wasn't anything amusing about it. I know, it's strange to complain about an episode title, but hey, it's one of the few bad things about this episode.
