It was only a matter of time before vampires were sucked into this show, especially after we had to put up with a werewolf episode last season. That said, I went along with it, hoping to learn something.
Instead of the typical "monster" approach of setting camera traps and live traps, this show was more documentary than reality show. The show covered just about everything vampire related and I was pleasantly surprised. They made clear distinctions from what we tend ... Read More

Another Bigfoot episode! I was very pleased to have a chance to watch "Legend of the Hairy Beast" this week. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a firm believer in the existence of Bigfoot (or Yeti or Sasquatch or whatever you want to call it). I've recorded several episodes on the subject of Bigfoot and I can never get enough.
But when watching them, it's hard not to find fault with investigating techniques. But that's ... Read More

I admit I've fallen behind on my MonsterQuest viewing. I guess I've been really busy and this show isn't at the top of my list of things to watch right now, thanks to the poor choices in subjects this year.
That being said, the Chupacabra is a popular creature of study in the cryptozological world. It's a creature most known for its attacks than its appearance. Few people seem to be able to agree on what it looks like, but ... Read More

MonsterQuest can be a little fun to watch sometimes. It's not a bad show, even though I don't give it a lot of praise sometimes, but the show could be better.
One problem with the series is the narrator constantly over-hyping everything. "Every piece of evidence may be the thing that breaks the case wide open", or that's how it seems. It's just irritating watching the show and he makes it sound like every clue will lead to a satisfactory ... Read More

And yet another "big creature" edition of MonsterQuest. This season has been loaded with episodes featuring quests for large versions of various animals, whether it be snakes or pigs. I just can't get into any of them. It just seems like a silly, pointless thing to look for.
After seeing the problems the team had with getting a camera mounted to a wild hog, I was utterly shocked when they said they were going to try to attach one to ... Read More

History Channel's popular series MonsterQuest returned with another so-called monster of the week. It's tough to get too excited about this series in the second season. They seem to have run out of monsters and are looking for big versions of ordinary creatures (hogs, for instance). This week, the show put researchers into the field in search of enormous snakes, namely pythons and anacondas.

I was pleasantly surprised when the History Channel announced there would be another Bigfoot episode in the series. We saw a few last season, but this year, the show has already shown two episodes of creatures I don't really consider to be monsters.
It seems that several areas in the world have some sort of BigFoot creature. Whether it's here in the U.S. or across Asia, we've all got stories of large, muscular, hairy creatures which walk upright on two legs. ... Read More

I'm not new to shows about the search for ghosts. I've seen a number of these paranormal shows, including the regular Sci-Fi series', Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International. But when I heard MonsterQuest was going to be investigating them, I grew very skeptical.
The skepticism is in that I doubted the investigation would be any good and not in the existence of ghosts. I'm a firm believer in ghosts, spirits, or whatever you want to call them.
Along with an investigation ... Read More

I've seen several documentaries dedicated to cattle mutilation and the theory presented is that some sort of alien may be responsible. It's tough to take much of that very seriously, quite frankly. So when MonsterQuest presented an episode about livestock and dog killings, I was hopeful for a more level-headed approach. I think I got what I was looking for.
The show traveled to North Carolina, a state with a lot of swamps and wooded areas, home to a lot ... Read More

MonsterQuest recently returned for their second new season with a new episode about giant hogs. When I initially heard about the subject, I was disappointed. When I think of hogs, one of the last things I think about is monsters.
The show claimed several people in the south (Georgia and Texas, in this case) were either being attacked by or simply seeing enormous hogs. In the past few years, there have been a number of large hogs that were shot, ... Read More
