Awesome. That's the one word I'd use to describe the series finale. Awesome. I'm frequently disappointed by the way shows end, but Monk's final two episodes were terrific.
Last week's "Part 1" ended with a cliffhanger, promising more details about what really happened to Trudy and when tonight's episode began, we started right back at that moment, with Trudy's confession. I have to admit it was quite a confession. Before she and Adrian met, she had an affair ... Read More

I knew going into this Friday's Monk that the episode was going to be good - I wasn't expecting it to be this good, however. There weren't many punches pulled.
The episode started off with a fairly ominous vision of Trudy. Adrian was awoken by the sight of his beloved wife who told him that they'd soon be seeing one another. To me, this meant that Adrian would soon be dead.
I enjoyed the scene which followed this. It was ... Read More

At some point in your childhood you will eventually hear the phrase "be careful what you ask for." Depending on the age, it may mean nothing to you, but in the case of "Mr. Monk and the Badge", the phrase immediately comes to mind as Adrian is officially brought back to the force.
Adrian's level of excitement was infectious. I couldn't help but be excited for him. It's been a long time coming. He's deserving, that's for sure. ... Read More

With the series down to just a few episodes remaining, the writers appear to be wrapping up some of the supporting characters. Recently Randy was shown dating Sharona and now Captain Leland Stottlemeyer is getting married. On top of that, they mentioned Natalie was seeing another Navy man.
Adrian didn't take issue with Leland marrying a woman named Trudy. I can see why Leland was worried about that a few weeks ago, but Adrian's simple dismissal of the issue made ... Read More

With Adrian Monk getting up early in the morning and getting out his old police uniform, I knew something important was about to happen. It's not every day that Adrian pulls out his uniform. As Adrian was getting prepared for the day, he noticed a sticky note from Natalie. It encouraged him. As did the four others. This started out cute, but by the time Adrian found all five, I had had it with the stickies and ... Read More

"Mr. Monk and the Dog" was had some of the sweetest moments I've ever seen on a cable show. I adored the interactions between Adrian and the dog he adopted for a few days. That dog brought around some enjoyment he hasn't had in years. We all knew Adrian's dinners were painfully lonesome, but actually seeing him alone made that dinner scene all the more depressing.
Most of the criminals Adrian Monk helps put away are genuinely bad people. ... Read More

Having Sharona back on Monk was something I've been looking forward to. The anticipation was ratcheted up a few notches with the clever commercials which played "My Sharona". I've really missed Sharona, but I admit that Natalie has been an excellent assistant for Adrian.
Sharona was brought back to town to handle some legal matters when a distant uncle of hers died. A lawsuit was threatened against a local golf course because the manner in which he died was thought ... Read More

Friday was Adrian Monk's 50th birthday and he last thing he wanted was a birthday party, especially a surprise party. He foiled one attempt at the police station when the captain and all of the officers were set for a surprise. It was kind of cute, but I felt a little bad for Natalie who was powerless in getting Adrian to just go along with the party-goers and enjoy the day.
We would later find out that the reason Monk has ... Read More

After taking a week off, Monk returned with an all-new episode this Friday and I have to say that I loved it. It was one of my favorite episodes in the entire eight season series. Not only did the writers include a lot of comedy, but there was an important breakthrough for Adrian Monk.
The episode started with a bit of a bombshell: Adrian's HMO was putting a cap on the number of private therapy sessions he is able to attend ... Read More

My hat goes off to the Monk crew for creating another strong episode. Two in a row! I couldn't help but consciously take note of how good the last two episodes have been. These haven't been your average episodes of Monk. Everything has been done really well lately.
The episode started off with an overweight kid playing baseball. He wasn't having any success at bat and when it came down to his last swing, he crushed the ball ... Read More
