When the networks do their upfronts each year, there is always a show or two that catches my eye, either because it sounds like something I'll like or it's something I know has no chance of being successful. Along with Dollhouse, Fringe caught my eye this year. (I'm sure there were a few others, but those are the two that come to mind.) It promised to be a science-fiction thriller.
The science-fiction genre has a little bit of everything in ... Read More

It was a mere two weeks ago that the hit series Lost completed its fourth season on ABC. It was a very different season to say the least. The show took a decidedly science fiction turn this year with the introduction of a psychic (Miles) and, of course, a time traveling bunny rabbit. We never would have guessed we would see the latter, but this didn't hurt the show in any way.
In fact, the show is back on track. ... Read More

It's been a very long time since there was a season premiere as anticipated as Lost's season four. Not only have we got the WGA on strike which is limiting the amount of scripted shows we get to see, but it's consistently one of the best shows on television. We love the characters and the story is engrossing like no other.
The season three finale, "Through the Looking Glass" contained, for the first time, flash-forward scenes. They showed Jack and ... Read More

The first part of the season finale opens with Jack on a plane. He asks for another drink and reads a paper. He's saddened to find an article in the paper. It would logically lead one to believe it to be an obituary, but it's not clear for whom.
A little bit of time has passed and we find a sobbing Jack driving a vehicle. He stops on a bridge and considers jumping over, committing suicide. There is ... Read More

Lost has been in the news recently because ABC and the producers of the show have agreed on when to end the show. It seems they'll be ending it sometime in 2010 according to this article. There will be three, shortened seasons of sixteen episodes each. The episodes will air consecutively, repeat-free, from February to May.
I'm just fine with this plan. I don't mind shorter seasons if it "will allow plots to be more tightly constructed" as Damon ... Read More
