TAPS was off to California this week to investigate the said-to-be-haunted USS Hornet. Warships, especially ones that have seen action where the crew saw losses, definitely seem to be paranormal hotbeds. I remember the TAPS investigation of the USS North Carolina (which I've been on personally, though I never encountered anything like they did) and I recall the wealth of activity they were able to capture. So, my hopes were, of course, high that the guys would come off the USS Hornet ... Read More

TAPS was on Steve's turf this time round, hence "hometown" being used in the title. Theodore's, the first investigation, was of the most significance to Steve. An old bar and pool hall that he and his band (yes, band) had played at many times, and where he knew the manager and staff well. The whole site is more of a museum on all the upper floors than anything else, while the bottom floor contains the bar and restaurant. There's no doubt the ... Read More

As any long time viewer of Ghost Hunters knows, TAPS places particular priority on cases involving children. And that's what was going on at the Taylor's House (the first investigation). The family's 1-year-old (Aden, I believe) seemed as if he were being attacked by some sort of paranormal phenomena or entity--a shadow figure. In fact, supposedly, several times the boy would wake in the morning with scratch marks on his body. Also, the mother had stated that he was afraid to go into his room ... Read More

With the few stellar investigations we've seen in recent weeks (Buffalo Central Terminal, Three Sisters Inn, Vinoy Hotel), it was only a matter of time, of course, before that frenzied pace of paranormal findings for TAPS would come to a dismal halt. And, unfortunately, the brakes skidded the ride to a complete and utter stop at the Oak Alley Plantation. The team found very little, and it was forty minutes of ho-hum. Though, like always, we need to remember, "Ghosts don't always come out on cue."
And ... Read More

Leaving New England well behind, TAPS headed this time down to Florida to investigate two historic St. Petersburg locales (or, should that be "haunts?"). And right from Mike Rowe's episode overview, I expected good things; but, you never know with the hype. However, the hype was definitely warranted. TAPS, I'll admit, had some rather interesting experiences to share.
Though, I'll say one thing, it sure seems TAPS has been on a roll as of late; or, maybe, the producers decided to amp things ... Read More

TAPS was back in Buffalo this week for the investigation of the Buffalo Central Terminal, an impressive art deco structure consisting of a 15-story office building and a huge cathedral-like main concourse, all connected together for a vast 500,000 square feet. Needless to say the guys had concluded a feat just getting things setup! The building currently has no operational elevators, of course, so every bit of gear had to be lugged up to the upper levels via stair; most of the activity it ... Read More

It's rare that we (the audience) get to experience any actual on-camera (that is to say from the show's camera crew's equipment) paranormal happenings on Ghost Hunters. Yet, tonight we truly did, I think, experience something definitely outside the norm. Then again, the Carriage Inn was, indeed, a place that, just due to its historical factor, invoked that feeling of creepiness that most of us usually associate with hauntings.
Built in the 1760s, I had high hopes from the beginning for the Carriage Inn investigation. And I was not to ... Read More

The investigation for which this episode is titled wasn't really that spectacular to be honest. In fact, it was the second (yet, oddly enough, the first) investigation at the Slater Mill complex in Rhode Island that was the most intriguing. The oldest industrial site in the nation, workers (mainly children) had to once endure strenuous and even dangerous working conditions; children were usually given the task of working on the machinery since they were able to fit into small spaces. And these kids complain ... Read More

It was definitely good to have the original Ghost Hunters back on air. Watching it's younger sibling, Ghost Hunters International was, I'm sorry to say, beginning to wear on me. So, with that said, how was the first episode after the so-called "mid-season break"?
The investigation at Iron Island, a town museum in Upstate New York, did yield some worthwhile evidence. In fact, there were some actual paranormal experiences! Not just EVPs, but REAL happenings. Or, at least, real-seeming. I still trust that what the ... Read More

One of Sci-Fi Channel's most popular series, Ghost Hunters, has been officially renewed for a fifth season. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone as the show's ratings have remained strong and as a result, a spin-off series was created not so long ago, titled Ghost Hunters International. In 2009, the show will return with twenty-five new episodes.
In October 2004, SCI FI introduced Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson-plumbers by day, Ghost Hunters by night! Jason and Grant head up ... Read More
