I can understand why an episode of Farscape like this one can be considered a disappointment, but I liked it for one reason and one reason only: it actually talked about Rygel's history. Rygel may not be a legendary warrior or anything too fascinating, but I do enjoy learning about his history as well as the history of his people.
Seeing Crichton in that full beard was something I wasn't expecting. That fake facial hair was just terrible. It more ... Read More

Coming off of the previous episode, "The Flax" was a big improvement. There may not have been a ton of action, but there was a fair amount of suspense which I have come to enjoy about Farscape. Aeryn and John are out practicing the handling of one of the crafts when they get caught up in some sort of energy field called The Flax which is set up to catch ships for the pirates to loot.
Coincidentally, there was a pirate ... Read More

"Rhapsody in Blue" took us to a place we don't normally travel: the history of John Crichton and Zhaan. Although they don't have many things in common, things about their past came up in a big way in this episode.
Some of the Delvians tricked Moya into approaching their planet in an attempt to get Zhaan to help them. Since we met Zhaan, we haven't seen a bad or evil side to her. She's always been a peaceful soul, but ... Read More

I had a difficult time enjoying "Till the Blood Runs Clear" as the story wasn't particularly gripping. For being away from his home, John Crichton hasn't looked to be in any sort of hurry to get back, but that seemed to change here. He and Aeryn Sun were out in space doing tests when John seemed to create a worm hole similar to the one which brought him away from Earth.
Getting close to the worm hole created damage on the ... Read More

I was already sleepy coming into watching this episode and I found it a little hard to stay awake, but I managed to and enjoyed another episode of Farscape. Some maintenance work on Moya turned up some Peacekeeper equipment. The exact reason for the equipment wasn't known, but after D'Argo tried to destroy it, Moya and the crew nearly died.
We've seen Moya and its crew members in rough shape before, but it's never quite gotten to this extreme. Pilot ... Read More

The crew aboard Moya were given a heck of an opportunity this week when an intelligent scientist by the name of NamTar offered to show them the way home to their individual planets. To obtain such knowledge, the crew was forced to attack one of their own, certainly a very high price to pay.
One couldn't help but feel some sorrow for Pilot for losing one of his arms in this week's episode. I know he dismissed the whole thing as ... Read More

"That Old Black Magic" showed us a very different side of Zhaan, a much darker, evil side. I had suspected there was more to Zhaan, the most peaceful of the Moya crew members. She had to revert to a former self in order to save John Crichton and the rest of the crew when an evil sorcerer puts them in danger.
It's been a little while since we've seen Crais, the Peacekeeper captain whose brother John accidentally killed when he found ... Read More

I'm only seven episodes into Farscape, but I'm really enjoying it so far. For a science fiction show, there aren't very many boring or cheesy moments, though there were a few predictable scenes in "PK Tech Girl."
In "PK Tech Girl," the Moya crew came upon an old Peacekeeper ship which had apparently been lost in battle some 100 cycles ago. It has been thoroughly salvaged by crews who came upon it over the years, so the Moya crew wasn't able ... Read More

Up to this point, the Farscape cast hasn't made very many journeys to other planets. For me, seeing other planets and the cultures there is one of the things I look forward to with science fiction shows. I like to see if the writers are capable of creating diverse cultures. Here, they did manage to visit a new planet. The most unique characteristics about the people on this planet were the bleach blonde hair and the white eyes. ... Read More

Of the previous episodes, this was the only episode that got a little confusing for me. Early on in the episode, the Moya saw another vessel blow up, piece by piece and rescued the emergency vessel which carried two scientists.
D'Argo became very close to them due to their similar species. This species is essentially a cousin to his. A war which began when D'Argo was imprisoned broke out and the two species have been working together to defeat their ... Read More
