I can’t believe it. Dollhouse made it through the ropes of being not cancelled! It’s awesome news for a show that was on the bubble. Now that they have a second season, they can finally prove that it wasn’t a mistake that Fox gave them another chance or will they prove the critics. Right? Based on the first episode it doesn’t look too bright.

The show opened up with the regulars getting on with their lives. Echo is still being used for people’s pleasures and crimes. Paul is being used as her new handler while Boyd is enjoying his new work environment. Topher is still playing the innocent geek behind the mayhem. Except something strange happened. His greatest creation Dr. Saunders has a weird obsession with him. She hates his guts but that’s the way he made her!

When he put in her new personality, he made sure that she had zero attraction to him whatsoever. She even can’t stand the smell of him. During a scene she tried to sleep with him put he informed her that it wasn’t possible. Her body would never let her. She has become a confused and venerable character. I’m glad that she has a more intense storyline and I’m curious to see where this will lead. It looks like we will see more of this character on a daily basis.

Jamie Barber and Eliza Dushku

Echo was assigned to watch over some millionaire. He isn’t a great person and Echo was in danger from the start. His people had her followed and her cover was blown through the roof. They continued with Echo’s glitches and every time she remembered something, she either got smacked or looked dumb. I really couldn’t get into her storyline at all. I was thinking to myself haven’t I seen this before. She and Paul got into a fight sequence once her new husband realized he was being had. This lead to the team to do the job and give the husband what he deserved.

This episode left me with a dull sense of entertainment. I lost interest in the first 10 mins. They didn’t have enough of Sierra. She was dressed up like a retarded housewife but still showed how talented she was. In her five minutes of airtime she showed more talent than half of the crew. The only people that made this episode watchable were Claire and Boyd’s situations.

It seems like Boyd and Odelle have a new enemy. A politician being played by the former Wesley of Angel, Alexis Denisof, is warning people about them. He even referred to them as terrorists. I’m anxious to see what the outcome of his character and the situation will be. This storyline can lead to some interesting results.

Overall, I wasn’t pleased with this opening. I’m hoping that next week my interests will be kept and that Joss Whedon could get his ball rolling in the right basket. With the talent that he has I’m sure that he can rebound. If not, then at least his show lasted longer than Firefly.

Dollhouse all season has been an up and down show. Sometimes it had quality episodes and other times it was boring. I would have to say less than fewer of its episodes were entertaining. The characters of Boyd, Paul, and Topher made the show watchable at times. Topher was the comic relief. He was always able to make the most serious situation seem funny. Boyd added the seriousness of the show with his facial expressions. For what should have been a boring character, Harry Loyd brought life to him. No matter how flat his facial expressions were, you could tell he cared for Echo. Eliza Dushku is always watchable even when her acting isn’t. She should stick to comedies and playing the bad girl. Overall, Dollhouse seems like a show that should have been made into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Maybe the second season will be it’s last if there is one.

Fran Kranz as Topher

The episode picks up with Echo acting like an uneducated school girl. Alpha is having some trouble keeping his personalities in tact. During the episode we find out that there was a malfunction with Topher’s machine that made him insane. One of Alpha’s old assignments reminded him of his former self. It didn’t help matters that echo looked like one of the victims. This explained why Alpha was so obsessed with her. He wanted to finish killing her. Instead of doing the deed, he wanted her to be his girlfriend. He kidnapped a girl named Wendy and puts Caroline into her body. He believes if he does the same thing to Echo that happened to him that they could be together forever. Once the procedure takes place, he realized it was a big mistake.

Echo turns on him and starts to kick his rear end. She explains to him that she understands and that he is crazy to think that she would kill herself. Too much talking was exchanged between Echo and the girl and unfortunately Alpha did the job for her. He shoots the girl in the neck and runs of all of echo’s personalities. She runs after him and does a pretty good job keeping up. She manages to save her memories with the help of Paul. Echo is returned home and is back to her usually self. Don’t worry about Paul though, it was part of his deal.

Paul joined the dollhouse and is now one of their agents, freelance of course. He teamed up with Paul to track down Alpha. He also had Sierra and Mellie help out. After he rescued Echo he managed to get Mellie free of her contract. It was a sweet thing for him to do and quite a surprise. They didn’t manage to catch Alpha but now have some idea of how to stop him. This show also gave us some interesting flashbacks. The surprise of the night was when we found out that Dr. Saunders was once a doll. A naughty doll at that. She was Alpha’s main squeeze before he went nutty for Echo. They made her into a nurse to cover up their own mistake. She does find out by episodes end and has some questions for Topher. Why did he make her hate him so much?

This episode was a good way to end the season. We were able to find out Alpha’s past. Paul finally found his girl and became part of the mystery. Dr. Saunders got some depth to her and Echo evolved. If there is a next season i hope that we get more of Dr. Saunders and her story. It could make for some good tv. I would love to see more of Topher and Sierra together again. They make a cute couple. Season 2 should be better if there is one!

I was expecting a much better episode than i saw. I thought this was going to be the best episode that this show could produce this season. It fell short of all my expectations. It had its moments of clarity and realizations but for the most part it was a dull episode. Only a few people made it worth the while. It didn’t come form any of the main stars either.

It begins with Paul dumping is dollhouse girlfriend. Her performance this episode was awful at best. Her tears looked as fake as Pamela Anderson’s boobies. This girl needs to take a few more acting classes. Paul was destined to find the dollhouse this episode. He finally got his wish. He was able to find one of the guys who created the dollhouse. This guy was a paranoid freak played by Alan Tudyk. He gave the best performance this episode. I enjoyed watching him play the goofball. I started to think that maybe he and Topher could possibly hook up in later episodes. Too bad that will never happened.

Alan Tudyk as Alpha

Echo was placed on a mission to help a little girl. It seems as if this girl had some emotional damage. She showed violent tendencies and was well on her way into being a public misfit. Echo tried her best to identify with the girl. It seemed to have worked because she was implanted with the same memories of the girl. This plot was meant to push the storyline along in an artistic way. It didn’t work out well and it ended up a waste of time. They could have thought up a better way to explain the prince trying to rescue the princess aka Paul trying to save Echo.

Paul forces his quirky friend to go with him. All the way to the dollhouse Alan’s character was trying to persuade Paul not to enter. I enjoyed the look on both of their faces. You can tell that Alan’s character was about to pee in his face and how Paul was annoyed by him. Once inside, Alan’s character took over. He was able to shut down the security cams and free the dolls. I was thinking “how did he knew so much?” It turned out he was the man he said he was. He was really Alpha!

He told Paul where to find Echo. Paul went after Echo and almost freed her. Boyd showed up however and all hell broke loose. Boyd and Paul were going at it all over the dollhouse. Boyd was getting the better of Paul most of the time. Echo joined in on a few occasions only to help Boyd when he was in trouble. Boyd eventually captured Paul and took him to see Adelle. Meanwhile, Alpha cut up Victor and was playing games with Claire. He was able to get his hands on Echo. He turned her into the woman he knew and escaped with her. I guess the wrong prince rescued the girl.

This episode lacked the excitement they showed during the previews. I was hoping for a more action-packed episode. Adding Alan to the cast seems like a good choice. He was better as the paranoid freak but having him as Alpha could be just as good. He does have that “psycho” look to him. I can only imagine what kind of mind he put into Echo. From the looks of things having them together will be deadly. Pain is something that they enjoy and I can only assume giving pain to others will make them both extremely happy. Paul and the dollhouse fate is undecided but i think the dollhouse has no other choice but to team up with Paul to take down Alpha and his bed mate. The last two episodes should be more interesting.

This episode was interesting. It had an intriguing storyline that at times was a little boring to view. It was something different for a change but it felt like an episode of Dead Like Me. On the other hand it did provide mystery around the death of an old friend. Who killed the old lady? The answer was quite surprising.

Echo was possessed by this woman’s mind. She was eager to find out who killed her. She knew the operator of the dollhouse. In case of her ever being murdered, she asked to be brought back to discovery the killer. I guess rich people always get what they want. When Echo appeared at the funeral, she discovered some interesting things. She realized that no one liked her when she was alive and that her family were the main suspects. I can only imagine how that would feel.

Enver Gjokaj as Vector

She decided to talk to each one of them to find out why they disliked her. Her daughter claims that she was never interested in her lifestyle. Se told her that her new husband was messing around with other woman and that she should have never trusted him. This leads to her suspecting him as the killer. She tries to seduce the husband but fails quite embarrassingly. He tells her to talk to the uncle since they never got along. She learns the uncle’s true feelings and that he couldn’t have done such a thing. She had a talk with her son that lead him to believe that she was hitting on him. He gives his mother a wet one and she almost vomits! After that, he realized that his mother was in Echo. He is also a client of the dollhouse. They inevitably over hear the husband being told that her horse were juiced up. This puts him in a rage and he begins to get violent. He sees the two hiding and the mystery around her death begins to unfold.

They begin to run away only to be chased by him. The son tells Echo to write down everything that they learned. The mother realizes though that her husband knew nothing about juicing up horses, especially how to hide the truth. She knew it as someone else. Her son came clean about the information and tried to kill his mother again. The husband intervenes and starts to fight with the boy. The boy ends up getting knocked out, landing on the floor. The mother writes a letter and a new will that confirms the son’s plan. She gives everyone what they deserves and finds a way to let them know how she truly about them.

Echo didn’t have all the fun though. Topher and Sierra became best buddies. Topher used her as his best friend or the friend he always wanted but never got. These two shared the best chemistry the show ever had and i think they need to be paired again. It was great seeing Topher happy for once and so did his boss. It must be lonely in that dollhouse since both of them needs a friend or lover. Paul had a difficult time playing stupid since he learned the truth behind everything’s. He does give a rough time in bed but that was due to his frustration. Next week he finally gets what he wants but it will come with a price.

This episode was decent to watch. At times it was slow and boring and at other times it was exciting and funny. Topher and Sierra was the best thing to watch and I hope we get to see something like that again. This episode deserves a decent rating. This show is unique and actually better than most shows on television. They just need to be consistent with the quality of the story lines they give us every week.

This episode was surprising entertaining. I enjoyed this episode very much. It had action, suspense, and mystery. This episode had to be one of the best ones all season. Everyone did their jobs well, well almost everyone anyway. Overall, it looks like Dollhouse has finally impressed me.

This episode featured an intriguing storyline. Someone in the dollhouse is a spy! Yeah, what a big surprise. The even bigger surprise is that Echo wanted to help. She actually came to Topher and asked him to wipe her. It looks like Echo is starting to learn the ropes around the dollhouse. Does this spell trouble for future episodes? This show wouldn’t be a drama if it wasn’t.

Sierra had her own problems this episode. Everyone knew that there was a spy in the dollhouse. Dominic wanted Sierra to find out who it was. She was imprinted with skills that could get the job done. She used them wisely and was able to get into places that no other person could. She found what she needed but failed to get out scott free. She was saved in the nick of time but her mission was much more than she believed.

Adelle (Olivia Williams), Victor (Enver Gjokaj)

Victor had his own thing going on. He was a love mate to a very powerful and beautiful woman. Who knew that Dewitt was a client of the dollhouse. She would sometimes use Victor as the man of her dreams. He symbolized the man that she always and wanted and fell in love with him. This showed that she truly has a heart and is looking to be loved like everyone else. She did eventually let him go but not without a major cry fest. Dewitt is one tough chick but it looks like they are setting up something big for her. It could be a big fall or maybe a change of character. Joss loves changing characters attitudes and behavior thorough the course of his shows. I wonder if the same will happen to Dewitt?

Echo received her treatment and was ready to find the spy in the dollhouse. Topher gave her enough skill to make this happen. She interviewed every employer there and was able to second guess everyone. Sierra was able to bring back the information and the spy was found out. Too bad it was the wrong one but Echo already knew that. The real spy was Dominick. He tried to kill Echo once again. This time Echo was equipped to take him down. Once taken down he showed almost no fear to what was about to happen to him. He did have one last laugh and showed Dewitt that no matter how cold-hearted she is she could still get hurt. He showed her this more than once and you could tell it left its mark.

Paul had an unsettling few minutes of air time. He found out that his neighbor next door was a member of the dollhouse. She left him a message and told him what he can and can not do. It looks like there is more than one spy in the dollhouse. Paul was unhappy that from now on he has to pretend that he doesn’t know anything. I almost felt sorry for him but it is for the best.

This episode all together was good. Other than a few stall performances this episode was one of the best. It finally delivered suspense and it helped push some characters who wasn’t getting a lot of attention. I thought this episode was put together nicely. I just hope in two weeks that they remain on the same track.

Every show has that one episode that defines the series. The promotion for this episode was to do just that. Define this series and take it to a new level. I for one was excited to see how the Dollhouse will react to the new world. I was curious to see how the show will progress this season. After watching this episode, it doesn’t look promising.

It begins with Paul having a dream about Echo. He is becoming more and more obsessed with Echo with each episodes. He discovers that he is being watched. He takes his hidden treasure to the local geek and is informed that the technology that is being used doesn’t exist yet! If this is true, how does he know so much about it? Anyway, Paul laves discouraged but by episodes end he gets a ray of hope.

Eliza Dushku as Echo, Fran Kranz as Topher

Echo and her posse wake up in their tombs terrified. It had to be some of the worst acting I have seen on any show. The way it was written and acted didn’t impress me. I thought it could have been done better with a touch of grace. You could tell that the actors were just playing their roles and feeling the emotions. This entire episode was supposed to be emotional but it fell flat before the 30 minute mark.

Once they were freed, they automatically banded together to find a way out. They pretended to be like the rest of them. It worked for most of them but one did get caught. They brainwashed him which gave the others a clue what is going on. This leads to them making a plan to get out of their situation. They successfully do so but only because it is part of the plan. The dollhouse has been working them from the start.

Echo chooses to stay behind and free the others. Unknowing to her this is exactly what the dollhouse wanted. Their plan to fix the glitches with the subjects is to have them find closure with their desires. Echo never really got the chance to save anyone from danger so the dollhouse gave her the opportunity. The others had to get over being kidnapped, the death of their daughter, and finally getting the girl of their dreams. The idea seemed thrilling and it should have made for great television. I felt as though something was missing. Maybe it was the acting. I didn’t think that the actors gave their best performances. It was more like they couldn’t wait to get through with this episode. I was hard for me to get into due to the lack of emotion. Most of their reactions were wooden and not suspenseful. I have to say that the plot twists were intriguing. I didn’t think that the dollhouse would go to these lengths to keep it a secret. Too bad they didn’t bet on Echo calling Paul with the info. Maybe next time they will cut the phone line before the cut the lights out. By the way, where is Alpha? I wonder what he is up to.

This episode was good for the most part. It was something different from the previous episodes. We got to see different sides of the mostly serious characters. It was a breathe of fresh air to see these characters acting silly and childish. The writer for this episode did a good job putting it together. Some of the actors fall flat on what they needed to express but it all turned out okay. Dollhouse is getting more and more watchable.

There is a big problem over at Echo’s old campus. It seems like a virus that turns adults into childish idiots was let loose. One of the victims went super crazy and killed himself by banging his head into glass several times. The scene wasn’t chilling but still disturbing for those who aren’t into the horror genre. The creator of the virus needs a team of dolls to go inside and the infection. The dolls can’t be infected because they have no memory of a childhood or anything for that matter. They send Echo on a separate assignment with an old friend of hers. It seems as though things were going to get interested when Echo turns the TV on and sees the news report. She gets a quick glimpse of her old self and is impaled to help the other dolls. She leaves her friend all tied up and leaves her assignment. Things aren’t looking good for the dollhouse.

Enver Gjokaj as Victor

Speaking of the house, they were in a bit of a crisis as well. Their super soldier Mellie almost lost her mind completely and killed everyone. Too bad she was too depressed over Paul to do it. Adelle and Topher was also under the spell. They acted quite silly and amusement to this episode. It was interesting seeing Adelle acting foolish. Lets hope they don’t let her do it again.

Echo arrives at the campus and is immediately mistaken for the infected. She is taken back for treatment. She meets Sam, played by Mehcad Brooks. He is interested in helping her with her cause. Echo needs to help someone from her past. We get to see flashbacks of her former self which adds an interesting back story. How long has Echo been under the Dollhouse spell? It looks like she has been for quite awhile. Everyone is getting affected with this virus; agents, Boyd, and even the dolls. The dolls are different though. Instead of memory loss, they have glitches or flashbacks. These flashbacks are intense and almost cost two of them their lives. Echo finally reaches her destination and inadvertently helps Sam with his. He used echo to retrieve the virus so he can sell it to another company. He attacks Echo and gives her a very high dosage of the material.

He tries to escape but Echo follows him. She gets intense flashbacks of her last visit at the campus. She has to watch her friend die all over again. She finally catches him when Boyd knocks him out cold. Echo agrees to do the treatment and is taking to safety. Sam however was not. It looks as though we may have a new doll in the house.

This episode didn’t feature much of Paul but for good reason. They really didn’t have much time for him and his storyline. Besides that and some of the mellow acting by the supporting actors, this episode was pretty good. it was a nice setup for next week episode where it looks like everyone gets their real memory back. After that episode who knows where Dollhouse will go next. This episode however didn’t put me to sleep and was better than their earlier ones. Let’s hope Dollhouse doesn’t skip a step.

This was one of the best episodes I’ve seen all year. For a show that doesn’t know how to keep the thrills coming, this episode delivered on all levels. They had many twists and turns that surprised me. They went to a darker version than I thought. The end result equaled a better quality show that is worth checking out from now on.

It begins with some colorful insight about the dollhouse. It seems as though this place is an urban legend or at least a myth in many people’s eyes. Their interviews were cute and sometimes gross. It showed how many perverted people are out there and it makes for one creepy atmosphere. I enjoyed the interviews. It added something special to the show. It gave the show more depth and something new to watch.

Patton Oswalt, Eliza Dushku

As for the story lines, they were also intriguing. There were three major story lines happening this episode. The first one was about Victor and Sierra. Sierra accuses Victor of raping her while in the dollhouse. This is a huge surprise because the dolls aren’t suppose to have a sex drive. Looks like someone made a huge mistake. There is a full blown investigation until Boyd smartens up. He realizes it isn’t possible for any of the dolls to do this. He sets up the real culprit and boy was it a real surprise. Once caught, he is given a choice. Either kill someone or go to the attic. If I were him, I would have chosen the attic. What is the attic, anyway? Whatever it is, it can’t be good.

Echo was sent on two different missions. The first one was a major bust. Only because Paul decided to make an unexpected visit. He finally finds what he is looking for but was no way near ready for the confrontation. This sequence was both interesting and funny. Eliza Dushku did a great job with this persona. The whole porn thing was funny. She can really play a dumb blond and she wasn’t even a blond. Paul did have a meaningful conversation with her buyer that showed not everyone is a pervert. Some do have good reasons why they use the dollhouse. Their second encounter however, wasn’t so pretty. Echo returned as an assassin to kill Paul. They had a great fight that pushed the boundaries of inter-gender violence. In the end, Paul finds out that he has a friend inside of dollhouse. Who it is remains a secret but i have my suspicions as do you.

The third storyline evolved around Paul. He finally hooks up with his neighbor. After episodes of flirting and teasing, they finally get it on in bed. We find out that she works for the dollhouse. They portrayed the mystery of his neighbor very well. I really couldn’t tell if she was one of the dolls or not. By episode’s end we find out the truth in a very disturbing way. She proves to be a bad ass and I’m wondering where her relationship with Paul will lead.

This episode was a major step up from last week. It had action and it told an amazing story. I hope that this trend keeps up with future episodes. This episode doesn’t feature Alpha for obvious reasons but it would of been interesting to see how he would have fit in this episode. Next week looks promising and I hope it delivers. There are 20 dollhouses in the world! Now that’s crazy!

Dollhouse just can’t be consistent. It had a good string of episodes for two weeks in a row. Tonight, however, they really dropped the ball. I couldn’t get into this episode if my life depended on it. In my opinion, this should have been put in the trash with the rest of the garbage. It really is that bad.

It started with a cult going to a grocery store, picking up some items. It looks like things aren’t to good for this cult because the general public is always harassing them. It must be for good reason. The senator requested that the dollhouse send in one of their experiments to assist with the dismantlement of the cult. He really wants to win his election and he thinks this cult will have an effect on the votes. Anyway the dollhouse thinks that Echo will be the best choice. Why does she always get to have the fun?

They decide to make her blind so that the FBI can have a sneak peek into the cult. It seems like a bright idea since Echo doesn’t have a clue. The cult is mesmerized by her blindness. Her faith in god truly took them by storm and they welcomed her with open arms. Well most of them did. One of them got a little bit too touchy feely. Like a true thug, he smacks her around like she owed him money. It was OK though because she was able to see again! Who says miracles never happen?!

Eliza Dushku as Echo

This is where things really got boring. After she regains her sight, the FBI’s plan backfires. We find out that nobody really left the note but one of the officers did. He did it so he could get the warrant to take down the cult. It was found out that he had personal issues with this group. He decided to rush in early and not give Echo a chance to win a few more people over. His recklessness cost them big time. The cult response to the threat was to set a fire and kill everyone inside. Yeah, that’s original.

Echo is inside pleading to their leader not to kill everyone. He doesn’t listen to say the least. So she has no other choice but to take a heavy instrument and knock him silly. She pleads to everyone to get out before the fire gets going. With some help, they start to listen and leave the building. Before the leader can get his revenge, Alpha returns and shoots him down. It looks like Alpha is one good stalker. He gives Echo a kiss with his gun and leaves like a thief in the night. Echo awakes only to find her angel, Boyd. He takes her to safety and this boring episode finally ends.

The only positive thing I can say about this episode was Topher showing interest in Dr. Claire. You know, the one with the scars. You could tell he doesn’t care about them but even a damaged girl isn’t feeling Topher. Paul is still looking for Echo and finds some pretty good evidence that she exists. Next week they will finally meet and I hope it will be more exciting than this weeks. It was a real bore fest.

So far this season Dollhouse hasn’t been on the money. The first three episodes hasn’t been anything special. The manhunt episode was their weakest til date. I figured this show will have inconstancy throughout this season. I expected this episode to be dumb and unwatchable. I was wrong since I believe this was the best episode yet.

It begins with her pretending to be a hooker. She is having a good time with her company until the party is taken upstairs. She runs out of the room with a busted lip. She runs into one of the hotel workers and asked him for help. He takes her into his security room and tries to buy her off. She becomes insulted and almost leaves the room. She turns back around and beats up the security guard. It was a setup to get her into the room so she can gain access to the vault. I guess looks are deceiving.

Eliza Dushku as Echo

Once she and her crew are in, they blow a hole that leads to a secret hallway. It leads to a vault with unlimited pleasures. Echo’s new personality is a master criminal. She is able to get into the vault with ease. Once inside, one of her partners quickly finds the item to steal but takes it for himself. He stabs his friend and runs outside with the item. Echo quickly calls for help and is assured that the item will reach its buyer. Then something strange happened. Her memory got remotely erased!

This put the people of the dollhouse in a frenzy. They couldn’t understand how it was possible for her memory to be wiped remotely. They finally acknowledge that alpha is alive and that they need to be careful. They are truly afraid of this man. With her that info they pumped in him, I can’t blame them.

Meanwhile, Echo is having a rough time with her remaining crew members. They think she is having some woman crisis. They try to smack her memory back into her but that did very little. The dollhouse is aware of the situation and has to call Seirra, played by Dichen Lachman, to help Echo.

They gave her the same skills with a snarly attitude. She gets in touch with Echo and tries to guide her on how to get everyone out. Unfortunately she messes up. She activates the alarm system and the police are they way. Her partner Vitas, played by Anson Mount, was more than willing to shoot his way out. However, Walton thought differently. He throws green smoke into the fire and escapes with Echo. They run into Boyd. He takes Walton and gives him medical attention. Echo goes through another mind wipe and no longer remembers the day. The dollhouse however will never forget this day.

Meanwhile during this whole ordeal Paul received a visitor. It was his good old buddy Victor. Victor believes people are out to get him and he needs Paul’s help. At first I thought Paul was going to help him but then he changes his mind. He tells him if he dies then he knows that he is on to something. He sends Victor away to his impending doom. I don’t believe Paul is going to let him die because after all he is the closest thing to the dollhouse. Maybe after Victor’s next mind wipe, everything will be okay.

I really liked this episode. I thought everyone did a good job with their parts. They let Dichen show her range as an actress and gave Topher lots of screen time. The nExt episode looks stupid but i thought this one was going to be too. So far they are two in a row for good episodes. I hope they can make it three.
