I don't do many general opinion pieces anymore, but today just happened to be the day for two of them. After watching a few of these so-called "new" episodes of MythBusters, I've just about had it with Discovery Channel's marketing tactics.
In case you haven't seen these, the series is off for the summer, but Discovery has decided to take old episodes, add occasional pop-ups with relevant information, and call them new episodes. I have a problem with the last bit. ... Read More

It isn't every day one of my favorite people is featured in a new series. Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, is one of the most famous archaeologists thanks to his books and several documentaries focused on Egypt's fascinating history. It didn't come to much surprise that he would eventually get his own TV series, but I never would have guessed it would turn out so poorly done.
The first episode started out with ... Read More

In my attempts to catch up with one of my favorite shows, I finally got around to seeing the third episode of the new season and it was a fairly big disappointment. Early episodes of new seasons tend to be little more than set-up episodes, leading to the season finale. Some have more excitement than others, but "It Hurts Me Too" contained too much Bill Compton for my tastes.
It isn't that I don't care about Bill, but I don't feel ... Read More

After Reaper got cancelled, I was curious to find out what show Missy Peregrym would land on; she really did a fantastic job on the old CW series and knew she would do a good job on another project. I didn't expect her to be playing a cop, however. That's exactly what she plays in the new Canadian cop drama, Rookie Blue. Missy plays Andy McNally, a rookie cop, straight out of the academy.
Andy is joined by four other ... Read More

Going into "Beautifully Broken", I was really excited to see what happens with Sam Merlotte and his family reunion. Sadly, that excitement has quickly dissipated after seeing the second episode. The reunion wasn't emotional. It was more disbelief than anything and in turn a big letdown.
The only fireworks in that storyline were between Sam and his new-found brother, Tommy, and even that was tame. I had hoped for something exciting between those two. Oh well. Bad ... Read More

Last season's finale left viewers with an incredible cliffhanger: where did Bill Compton disappear to? Everything pointed to a kidnapping, but the only semi-obvious culprit was Eric Northman. The vampire sheriff of the district has plenty to gain with Bill out of the way, namely Sookie Stackhouse.
The season three premiere was quick to answer who was responsible for Bill's disappearance. Werewolves from neighboring Mississippi took him and headed back home. That is until Bill somehow managed to flip ... Read More

I tend to be a little hesitant about watching new shows because there's no telling how long the shows will be on the air. Networks seem eager to pull a show the schedule the moment it under performs in the ratings. I decided to give Neighbors From Hell a shot because it's a cable series. Cable series aren't often pulled quite as quickly as shows on CBS, Fox, ABC, or NBC. After watching the first episode, I'm glad ... Read More

After taking an extended break from the site, I'm back and I'll start things off with an advance review of tonight's season premiere of Burn Notice. Since it's an advance review, I'm not going to spoil everything.
A lot has happened for Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) since the third season finale and it's taken a toll on his mother. When they're eventually united, Madeline Westen (Sharon Gless) isn't nearly as enthusiastic to see her son as most people would think. ... Read More

It's episodes like "Snakehead" that make me wonder if the writers are doing the right thing by including all of these episodes that don't really tie into the show's anthology. With the ratings dropping, I can't help but wonder if this is going to be Fringe's final season.
"Snakehead" was hands-down one of the most disgusting episodes we've seen and Fringe has had some disturbing episodes. These squid-like parasitic worms were really a sight to see as they moved about in ... Read More

I've been eagerly awaiting the new season as soon as it was revealed Scrubs would be getting another season. With the revelation that this season would be taking a new direction, I was intrigued to see how different it would be, whether it would bring something new and good to the table or whether this direction would be so far left that I wouldn’t recognize the show anymore. After watching the first episode, I can say that things are still familiar, but ... Read More
