I used to watch The Colbert Report each and every night, but as my schedule got more and more tight, I just haven't been able to find the time to watch as much Colbert and Daily Show as I used to. That being said, I was fortunate enough to catch part of an episode the other night, specifically the segment entitled "The Word." This has always been my favorite segment on The Colbert Report and I find it a fitting ... Read More

The recent passing of comedian and author George Carlin was rather surprising to a lot of us. I can only speak for myself, but I loved his sense of humor and interest in words and language. He's going to be missed by millions of fans.
One of the things we could count on every few years is a new HBO special from George Carlin. Just earlier this year, Carlin came back to HBO for his 14th solo stand-up comedy special, ... Read More

We were a little skeptical about choosing to review the science fiction series Charlie Jade, which is currently "airing" on SciFi. Our ability to review future episodes has become a little more difficult. As it turns out, SciFi has changed the time in which it airs. No longer airing at 8pm ET/PT, Charlie Jade is now airing at 3am.

We have a question for SciFi: Why?! Why move ... Read More

When the networks do their upfronts each year, there is always a show or two that catches my eye, either because it sounds like something I'll like or it's something I know has no chance of being successful. Along with Dollhouse, Fringe caught my eye this year. (I'm sure there were a few others, but those are the two that come to mind.) It promised to be a science-fiction thriller.
The science-fiction genre has a little bit of everything in ... Read More

Fall television has come and gone, leaving us with a cornucopia of terrible reality shows and just a handful of TV shows worth watching. I asked our writers to let me know what they will be watching this summer. We would love your picks as well. You can leave a comment in the box below.

A few months ago, it was announced that Fox had picked up Seth MacFarlane's latest animation idea, The Cleveland Show. Some fans have voiced some concerns because Cleveland won't be on Family Guy anymore, and then there's the fact that MacFarlane's previous show concept, American Dad, hasn't turned out to be nearly as good as Family Guy.
I'm trying to avoid getting too involved in the speculation as to whether or not the show will be a success, but judging by the ... Read More

It wasn't that long ago that 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for the much-anticipated X-Files movie sequel, The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Some, including myself, felt it was a big disappointment. It was awfully light on content, and was really just a bunch of black flashes, giving us very little insight as to what the plot of the movie is going to be about.
Yahoo now has the second trailer for the movie. It's exclusive to them ... Read More

Late last night I was flipping through the channels trying to find something to watch and stumbled across a February repeat of Letterman's late-night show. I watched a few minutes of it earlier on because comedian Steve Martin was on, but I lost interest in that interview after a while.
Well, when I tuned into the last segment, I caught an extraordinary hand puppet act by Australian Raymond Crowe. As he mentions in the beginning, this brings us back to our ... Read More

Prison Break was a show that I loved right from the beginning. The characters were all quite different, some you could root for, while others you wanted to see dead. T-Bag would fall into the latter category.
But when season three came around, I just didn't watch it. It wasn't because of the quality of the show, I just had other things to do on Monday nights. But I recently watched the entire (shortened) season a few weeks ago ... Read More

For some bizarre reason, The History Channel is dropping "the" and "channel" from its name and will now be known as "History." This is supposedly because the network is trying to get a broader audience and bring in more lucrative advertising dollars. Personally, I think the move is simply stupid.
The network rarely airs any great documentaries anymore. History has already turned into A&E, Discovery, Bravo and countless other channels which air a lot of reality TV. Sure, Ax ... Read More
