Just after announcing the end of Stargate Atlantis, Sci-Fi Channel and MGM have announced another spin-off to the Stargate franchise. Stargate Universe be headed up by Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, co-creators of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Sci-Fi Channel has announced that they will be cancelling the hit series Stargate Atlantis at the end of the fifth season. It's one example of how a show's budget has just gotten too out of control. CBS has officially announced that Laurence Fishburne will be joining the cast of CSI this season. He was one of only a handful of names being mentioned as the eventual successor to Gil Grissom (played by William Peterson).
