It turns out when one brings in four guest stars, all of whom haven’t been on TV regularly in years, it creates a vortex of stale around the original TV components of a show. In the 23.5 hours between McCain’s concession and the last episode of South Park, Matt and Trey found pure gold and erased the pain and anguish of a season floundering in irrelevance.
