Following the highly emotional episode that preceded this one, Chuck really took things in a different direction. Chuck (Zachary Levi), Casey (Adam Baldwin), and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) were all feeling uncomfortable at home. It wasn’t hard not to feel for them, frankly. The constant talk about the eventual wedding was overboard. The gang practically begged General Diane Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) for a mission. Thankfully, there was something for them to do.

Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette) is quite the spy. He’s delightfully witty and charming. It’s no wonder why he’s been so good in the field as an agent. That being said, you’d think a jilted lover would have taken a shot (literally) at him. The General sure tried!

Larroquette seemed to basically play himself to a certain extent. He was thoroughly entertaining. It made me miss his days on The West Wing, actually.

Yvonne Strahovski deserves a standing ovation for her willingness to put on that belly-dancer outfit. I was really blown away by that scene. She could have convinced me to do just about anything. It wasn’t just a sexy scene… there was plenty of irony present considering Chuck’s motives were also to seduce her, of course.

As I mentioned in a previous episode, I haven’t seen every episode of Chuck. What I have seen hasn’t really delved into Sarah Walker’s life. I don’t know much about her. The fact that her family isn’t really a big part of the show thus far didn’t make her request to elope much of a surprise. I just wish Sarah and Chuck would have discussed this sort of stuff more often. Sometimes I find their little arguments to be totally unnecessary.

This family-heavy episode even managed to include what’s going on with Alex (Mekenna Melvin), Morgan (Joshua Gomez), and Casey. It’s nice to see Casey smile every now and then. And seeing Alex’s mother, Kathleen (Clare Carey), happy with someone new was a nice sight. Having Casey speak to her probably would have been devastating for her.

Although Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) did give her mother her blessing to rejoin the CIA, it still has me wondering what sort of future Mary is going to have on the show. I think Linda Hamilton is a terrific fit, but I think it could become impossible for her character to go on her own missions and be able to keep Chuck at bay. I think he’d be wanting to involve himself in every one of Mary’s missions and that’s not something that I’d like to see.
