After one of the only disappointing episodes of the season thus far, Chuck rebounded with one of the best episodes of television that I’ve ever seen. Everything seemed to come to a head with this. We had several stories all coming together that led to a beautiful ending.

I honestly thought the Alexi Volkoff (Timothy Dalton) plot was going to take considerably longer to wrap up. I don’t think they’re really done, but for the time being, I have to imagine Timothy Dalton won’t be featured a whole lot in the next few episodes following that brilliant mission that Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) embarked on. Truthfully, I was actually caught off guard when it was Chuck that had set up Volkoff. A small part of me wanted to see Chuck’s father actually turn up alive after all these many years.

Now the pregnancy story was equally as entertaining. Where the drama was light, the comedy was there to balance things out. You knew exactly what Jeff (Scott Krinsky) and Lester (Vik Sahay) were going to do, but it didn’t take away from the end result. Showing up in the hospital and picking “Push It”, complete with attire… it was just too much. It was AMAZING! I loved it!

I thought Chuck’s proposal to Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) was terrifically timed and filmed beautifully. We’ve known what Chuck has wanted to say for a while now so we didn’t really need to hear the words which were drowned out by the floor buffer being used by the custodian.

Presumably no longer a rogue agent, Mary Bartowski’s (Linda Hamilton) future seems a little up in the air. Is she going to get back into the CIA? Will she retire? What’s going to happen? Knowing she’s officially a grandmother could have her reevaluate her plans. She’s been through quite a bit in the past year, running into the family that she left for her mission to bring down Volkoff.

Both Levi and Dalton deserve credit for their terrific performances in “Chuck Versus the Push Mix.” The big showdown in the cabin was outstanding. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
