This was the episode I was sort of regretting watching. We all knew at some point that Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) was going to have to prove herself to Alexi Volkoff (Timothy Dalton). Alexi is no fool. He knows he can’t just let some so-called rogue CIA agent into his network of thugs and assassins and be trusted.
Having her break out one of Alexi’s most trusted security guards was fairly entertaining. Watching Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) help Sarah break Alexi’s bodyguard was definitely amusing.

The fight scene with Sarah and Casey was one of those aspects of the episode I wasn’t looking forward to. It wasn’t a surprising story development. The fall from the ninth floor was, however, impressive. It gave Casey a somewhat believable death, but if I were Alexi, I would have checked Casey’s body after I had gotten outside. I wouldn’t have left for parts unknown before Casey’s health status was known.
One of the more enjoyable things in this episode didn’t even involve Chuck or Sarah. How could you not like the developments with Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Alex (Mekenna Melvin)?! Morgan’s genuinely in love with Alex. I was a little taken a back by Casey’s response to seeing Alex leave Morgan’s apartment wearing Morgan’s shirt. Obviously Casey concluded Alex and Morgan had sex, but I guess I suspected Casey would have been a little more upset by it. Casey seems like he’d be a little more conservative and wouldn’t approve of Alex’s having sex before getting married.
While there were some fun little developments, I came away disappointed with the episode’s predictable main story. Putting Sarah to the test was inevitable. And she was certainly going to be tested against someone she knew like Casey.
