As Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) furthers her siege on this tight-knit Hampton community, new characters enter the show and come into Emily’s crosshairs. I keep thinking they’re going to run out of people, but I completely understood why Emily went after the court-appointed therapist, Dr. Michelle Banks (Amy Landecker) that was paid off by Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) to make sure Emily remained institutionalized and away from her father.
I applauded the method she used to ruin the therapist. As I said last week, I thought she would have brought down the Senator using a hacked PowerPoint presentation. This time, she hijacked that DVD presentation with recorded private therapy sessions. I have to agree with Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann) about the genius that was including Emily’s own sessions as a way to throw off suspicion.

Ashton Holmes, Josh Bowman
Definitely the biggest developments came when Daniel’s (Josh Bowman) best friend, Tyler (Ashton Holmes), stuck his nose in everyone’s business. I had a weird feeling about the guy when he was introduced. After seeing how he operates, it’s clear he’s just as bad as Emily can be. The dude has the potential to be down-right ruthless. I’m just now sure why Tyler is trying to drive a wedge between Emily and Daniel. I don’t know what his deal is.
The relationship between Jack (Nick Wechsler) and Declan (Connor Paolo) was once again put on display. Declan’s youth really showed through again. He really thinks he’s cool, but the kid’s an annoying little poser. He does seem to have genuine feelings for Charlotte (Christa B. Allen). I can’t help but wonder when the rich kids come by and try to beat him up for his relentless efforts to win Charlotte’s heart.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of this episode was the fact that Victoria’s husband is still seeing Lydia (Amber Valletta) on the side. That guy’s got some balls, I tell you. I can’t imagine cheating on my wife, so for him to actually continue to sleep with Lydia after the affair was exposed, it’s just lunacy. It makes me curious if Victoria would ever try to kill her husband for his cheating ways. Like the police said, Victoria is well off and is a woman of unlimited funds, more or less. It wouldn’t come as a surprise for her to finally do away with her husband.
The events surrounding Tyler kept this episode from feeling formulaic. Until now, everything seemed to be going the way Emily wanted. Now Emily may have some problems on her hands.
