“Give a little Bit” is the first episode of Entourage in a while where I felt we got bang for our buck. This episode was filled with a lot of emotional content and was a great mix of how Entourage is more than just a show about men hanging out and having fun and how Entourage can still be just as over the top as any other show on television; this was great way to cap of the season.

This episode caught me off guard a bit. I don’t think I was prepared to get such an interesting finale out of Entourage because don’t get me wrong this season has been fun, but it hasn’t felt as strong as some of the seasons before it.  Vince not being the focal point of this season worked out this season I thought and I think not being exposed to him as much makes us feel like we’re going to miss him now that he’s going off to Italy for a while.

It was interesting to see that Turtle had started talking to the co-ed, considering that we barely saw any other interaction between the two except for some stares, but the whole time difference in between episodes has always been odd anyway. What was funny though was how Turtle lied to the guys and pretended like he had been having sex with the co-ed, when all he’s really been doing is talking about Jamie to her. I’m glad the decision to go see Jamie ended up backfiring on him, because it would have seemed kind of cheesy. I don’t know if this relationship is over for good, but I think having this relationship end can be a good thing because it might just give Turtle the courage to go out there and pursue other ladies. I think having Turtle date around next season might be a good thing.

Eric’s newfound confidence continued as he invited Sloan out to lunch to get her back. Once Sloan realized that it was just another attempt for a relationship, she ended up being mad. I thought this worked great because it was one of those moments where it didn’t seem like she was mad. Eric made her cancel on the guy she was seeing, but that he would give her the hope of them being together when she doesn’t think he’ll commit. We can’t blame the woman for being reluctant because Eric really did just up and leave her. It was a pretty big shock when he actually proposed to her, but this worked as well and shows just how far Eric has come along. He’s the first one out of the guys to get engaged and I think it’ll be interesting next season to see how Eric’s engagement will affect the dynamic of the group.

It was nice to see Drama get what seems to be his big break. He didn’t end up getting the Melrose deal, but it ended up getting a nice deal that will potentially give him his own show. I think this is a big evolution for Drama and I hope things go well for him next season. I also have to say that the speech he gave before his audition was one of the best one Drama has ever given. It would have been nice to see his audition, but since he got the part, I guess we can imagine that it was great.

The best thing about this episode has to be Ari. I know Jeremy Piven gets a lot of flack because he’s a jerk, but he’s a great actor and shows it in this episode. The deal with Terrence doesn’t seem to be finished yet when he finds out that Terrence wants to keep the name of the company, so that means that Ari can’t change it to Miller-Gold.

There was a big deal about Ari just wanting the company because he wanted revenge on Terrence and while last episode didn’t make me believe it, this episode did. Ari really wanted to get back at Terrence. This is something that happened several seasons ago and I like how the writers brought it back to the forefront. Basically Ari has been waiting for this moment for a while now. Things were settled when Terrence gave him his apology he wanted and we actually were able to understand why Terrence fired Ari; it was because Ari was starting to overshadow him. After the handshake and the heartfelt moment, it was a surprise to see Ari come into his new office with a paintball gun; you have to love how Entourage can totally air two scenes that are complete opposites of each other. It’s amazing that he actually got away with firing paintballs at employees, but one thing I did notice was that Ari didn’t fire Adam Davies, so it should be interesting to see whether he’ll have a job next season. You know I actually believed that Ari wanted Lloyd back as his slave and that Lloyd would leave Ari, so it was another surprise to see Ari apologize and give Lloyd his own office, which is something he definitely deserved. The apology from Terrence hasn’t brought about a new Ari, but seems to have relieved him of channeling all his anger to other people.

Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold

This was all acted very well by Jeremy Piven and is a reason why I don’t think this show can work without him. Ari has very much been involved with his own storylines this season and it’s worked well, but I would like to see some interaction between him and Vince again a little more next season.

I’m surprised I’m saying this, but this was an unexpected, but great season finale that has me eager to see where everyone will be at the beginning of next season. This was a well acted episode with a lot of content this episode and it has me hoping that we see the next season of Entourage, sooner than later.
