There was actually stuff to like on this episode of Entourage, but there was too much that annoyed me or that really has been going on for too long. It’s not a bad episode of Entourage, but it definitely could have been better… let me explain.
I’ll start with the bad. First I have to say this stalker storyline they have going on with Vince doesn’t really fit in with the show. I originally thought the whole stalker thing was going to be a one episode joke, but instead the writers have somehow worked it into being an actual storyline. I wish I could say Vince hiring the million dollar security team was interesting, but it wasn’t. In fact, this seems a bit out of character for Vince who is usually so carefree and it’s amazing that he would pay so much money for security. I was even disappointed when they showed us who the stalker was which was some red-headed kid. I would prefer that this storyline got less time though.
This week Andrew Klein is still causing trouble for Ari. His wife has kicked him out of the house and he’s embarrassing the company. The only way he’s able to keep his job is if he can get Aaron Sorkin as a client. We all knew something was going to go wrong and sure enough it did. When he’s unable to get his notes from his house thanks to his wife, he decides to drive his car straight through the house. The scene was a bit over the top, but for some reason people who work in Ari’s office (including Ari himself) are all over the top.

Gary Cole as Andrew Klein
So now we have Andrew in jail, which may or may not be for only one episode. I think the biggest problem I had with the Andrew storyline is that it feels like it’s dragged on for too long. I was also under the impression that Andrew wasn’t going to be a regular cast member and that he’d only last a season, but it looks like we’ll be seeing him next season as well provided that nothing happens to him before then. I’m thinking ahead and I don’t know if there’s enough room to fit another even slightly major character on the show. It’s also interesting, because Andrew hasn’t interacted with any of the guys except Lloyd and Ari.
What I did like was E’s new found sense of confidence as it seemed like him and Sloan were going to play the old game of being friends. I really like Sloan and I really like the two of them together. I think the writers know this, because they’re doing everything possible to keep these two away from each other. It worked well in this episode with Eric deciding to go out for a drink only to get called back by Ashley (ugh). What was surprising was how straightforward Eric was with Sloan. I love his new confidence and hopefully Sloan comes to her senses and stops playing games because Eric is serious.
I liked how Aaron Sorkin still hates Ari and it’s nice that the writers never forget that. Jeremy Piven, while possibly a jerk in real life, had another good performance in this episode. This episode wasn’t horrible, but it felt somewhat flat and I think it’s because Drama and Turtle really had nothing to do this episode. I’m hoping that the next couple of episode focuses less on Andrew Klein and more on the main four guys because Turtle going to school was interesting stuff along with Johnny’s adventures.
