Finales are a difficult thing to pull off, especially when it comes to the end of an entire series. It’s simply not possible to please everyone, but I thought this was a fitting conclusion to the series.
If you’ve watched the show over the past few seasons, then you’ll feel right at home with all of what happened in the big two-hour finale. It’s impossible to know who is telling the truth and when. But rest assured, the general isn’t going to stay true to his word.
Prison Break isn’t exactly known for its moments of levity, but the one lighter moment in the finale was when Sara accused T-Bag of having problems “getting it up,” shall we say. I thought it was quite clever for the circumstances.

I’m not going to rehash everything like I would to some extent, but there were some notable guest appearances from the early seasons. I was shocked to see Sucre and Kellerman back on. Both proved to be helpful and I’m glad they were included in the show.
I don’t quite know what I would have done if I were Michael towards the end. Do you trust Kellerman? He’s not always been there for Lincoln and Michael. That’s a tough call to make.
My biggest problem with the finale was the feds and how ridiculously relentless they went after Scofield and Burrows. Honestly, it just became a joke. It wasn’t serious anymore. It quickly became a comedy routine.
The big reveal included some surprises, particularly Don Self and Michael Scofield. Self pretty much got what he deserved though. He screwed over everyone he could to get ahead, helping people only when his ass was in a sling.
And as for Scofield, he didn’t get to live long. It would seem that his tumor had returned. There was some blood that came out of his nose at the end, which makes me conclude the general’s doctors didn’t do as thorough of a job as they thought, or it just came back.
Whatever the case, I was okay with Scofield’s death. He sacrificed for everyone and eventually it was going to be his time, although I do admit that I would have liked to have seen he and Sara live happily ever after.
I’m disappointed by the decision to include the “Final Break” episodes as a separate DVD/Bluray. They are going to detail what happened in that four year gap. It’ll give specifics as to Michael’s condition and Sara’s stint in jail for killing Christina.
It seems like a huge money grab, which is all this series turned out to be. Two seasons would have been enough. Instead of giving us two great seasons, we got one tremendous season, followed by three fairly mediocre seasons. This show didn’t need to be this long.
