Prison Break has been a show of lots of ups and downs for me. The first season was nearly a perfectly executed season and it’s been all over the place ever since. A string of good episodes is usually followed by a string of mediocre ones and right now, we’re in the mediocre territory.

The rift between Lincoln and Michael goes against everything we’ve come to know about the two and is something that is just out of character. It isn’t like they’re trying to kill one another. They’re working with similar goals, but the means to achieving those goals has been a little different.

Robert Knepper as T-Bag

I nearly crapped my pants when I saw T-Bag at the Indian Embassy talking about elephants. I would have expected something a little more clever to come from the quick-thinking convict. Elephants just seemed like a ridiculous topic to bring up, but it did work for the most part. The guys managed to get in and out of the Embassy without anyone getting killed.

The biggest surprise to come out of “VS” was the fact that Sara tested positive for being pregnant. I guess one would imagine that she and Michael have had sex, but it’s not something that has really been shown. Their intimacy never seems to make it on television which makes it all the more surprising.

The introduction of Vincent Sandinsky was an interesting move. Vincent initially seemed like he may have been a totally innocent guy, but it became clear that he was much more than just a scientist going to a convention for a speech. It really raises the question: what are Vincent and Christine up to? And to be honest, I really haven’t figured it out yet.

“VS” was another good example of why I’ll always remember Prison Break for the action and excitement. There was a lot of it, all throughout the episode. The show is rarely ever boring, but the Michael vs Lincoln story is just not working for me.

Rating: 7.4
