Dollhouse just can’t be consistent. It had a good string of episodes for two weeks in a row. Tonight, however, they really dropped the ball. I couldn’t get into this episode if my life depended on it. In my opinion, this should have been put in the trash with the rest of the garbage. It really is that bad.

It started with a cult going to a grocery store, picking up some items. It looks like things aren’t to good for this cult because the general public is always harassing them. It must be for good reason. The senator requested that the dollhouse send in one of their experiments to assist with the dismantlement of the cult.  He really wants to win his election and he thinks this cult will have an effect on the votes. Anyway the dollhouse thinks that Echo will be the best choice. Why does she always get to have the fun?

They decide to make her blind so that the FBI can have a sneak peek into the cult. It seems like a bright idea since Echo doesn’t have a clue. The cult is mesmerized by her blindness. Her faith in god truly took them by storm and they welcomed her with open arms. Well most of them did. One of them got a little bit too touchy feely. Like a true thug, he smacks her around like she owed him money. It was OK though because she was able to see again! Who says miracles never happen?!

Eliza Dushku as Echo

This is where things really got boring. After she regains her sight, the FBI’s plan backfires. We find out that nobody really left the note but one of the officers did. He did it so he could get the warrant to take down the cult. It was found out that he had personal issues with this group. He decided to rush in early and not give Echo a chance to win a few more people over. His recklessness cost them big time. The cult response to the threat was to set a fire and kill everyone inside. Yeah, that’s original.

Echo is inside pleading to their leader not to kill everyone. He doesn’t listen to say the least. So she has no other choice but to take a heavy instrument and knock him silly. She pleads to everyone to get out before the fire gets going. With some help, they start to listen and leave the building.  Before the leader can get his revenge, Alpha returns and shoots him down. It looks like Alpha is one good stalker. He gives Echo a kiss with his gun and leaves like a thief in the night. Echo awakes only to find her angel, Boyd. He takes her to safety and this boring episode finally ends.

The only positive thing I can say about this episode was Topher showing interest in Dr. Claire. You know, the one with the scars. You could tell he doesn’t care about them but even a damaged girl isn’t feeling Topher.  Paul is still looking for Echo and finds some pretty good evidence that she exists. Next week they will finally meet and I hope it will be more exciting than this weeks. It was a real bore fest.

  1. Everyone connected to the show says that the next few episodes is where Joss Whedon saw the show going. It seems like Dollhouse is going to get on track this Friday. I can’t wait. :)
