I like it when I see a familiar face on TV shows. And Mitch Pileggi is definitely a familiar face thanks to his many years on The X-Files. He played a detective who is well known for solving high profile cases. He arrested Sam when Sam accidentally used a taser on him.
Let’s backtrack a little… Sam’s latest escaped soul is a serial killer. he was tried, convicted, and then executed for his crimes. He now escaped Hell and is killing those responsible for the trial. He’s been killing lawyers and even the judge in the case. Sam was staking out one of the lawyer’s homes when he caught the detective snooping around outside and hit him with the taser… nice move.

Rick Gonzalez as Ben, Bret Harrison as Sam and Missy Peregrym as Andi, Tyler Labine as Bert “Sock” Wysocki, Valarie Rae Miller as Josie and Ray Wise as The Devil
Things with Andi and Greg did feel a little awkward this week. Greg has been set on a big surprise party, something Andi wants no part of. They would eventually break up, leaving an opening for Sam… well maybe.
All episode long, Sam was debating whether or not to give Andi a necklace that he bought. The problem with the necklace is that it was pretty serious. It had a nice diamond and didn’t seem like something you’d give to a friend, but to a girlfriend/wife. Sock and Ben both told him not to give it to Andi, but Sam didn’t listen. Sam courageously gave her the necklace, only to be rejected. Andi didn’t want to risk their friendship for a romance. She pointed this out earlier when talking to Sock’s ex-girlfriend. Sock and Josie used to be friends before they tried to be boyfriend/girlfriend, and when that failed, the two haven’t been very close.
The case of catching the soul had some interesting moments, but that huge twist at the end was terrific. It’s funny how many people have sold their soul to The Devil…
The side plot with Sock and Gladys was totally worth the wait. I was really wondering it if was going to deliver and it really worked. I laughed like I hadn’t laughed since the paint can rodeo when that little story played out. Great stuff.
