This episode had great promise. Tonight was a stand alone episode featuring H.R.G, Matt Parkman, Mohinder, and Peter. Their purpose was to gain information and bring the fight to their door steps. They knew that it wouldn’t be easy so they had to get creative. It consisted of drugging up Bennet and allowing Matt Parkman to read his mind. Maybe it wasn’t creative, but it did get the job done.

Matt started to dig deep into H.R.G.’s mind. He dug so deep it took him to last month where the first sign of this program started. Angela tried to get H.R.G. to move on by giving him a large sum of money and a nice looking watch. H.R.G. protested saying that he is a soldier that needs to be on the frontline, not retiring at home. Angela thought it would be best for him to move on and spend time with his family. Nathan had a different plan for him. Nathan paid him a visit and told H.R.G. about his plan. Nathan needed to know how it was done so Bennet showed him his tools in the locked toy chest. Once Matt sees this memory, he writes down the address and sends Peter to investigate. This proves to be a big mistake.

Peter goes to the storage shelter and finds all kinds of goodies. Unfortunately he was being watched. Nathan sends his people to get Peter but he flies away in the nick of time.

Meanwhile, Mohinder and Matt are having problems. Mohinder believes he is torturing H.R.G. as an act of revenge. After a little more digging, he finds out that Mohinder knew about the operation from the start. Mohinder tries to tell Matt he didn’t believe anything that Bennet told him. Matt tries to fight him anyway but gets beaten up. H.R.G. manages to escape but Peter swoops down and puts a stop to that.

Matt begins to dig deeper this time, trying to find out who is behind it. He sees a memory involving The Hunter and sends Peter to his apartment. Peter holds The Hunter hostage, asking for answers. The Hunter doesn’t want to play ball and challenges Peter to shoot him. Nathan intervenes and tells Peter about Mohinder and Matt’s impending doom. Peter shoots The Hunter in the arm and flies off.  The Hunter gives the order to attack. They do but quite poorly. They don’t know what room the fugitives were in.

During the soldier’s goose chase, H.R.G gives Matt some good news. He tells him that Daphne is alive. Matt searches his mind and finds out that he isn’t lying. Mohinder makes the sacrifice and gets kidnapped as redemption for not telling the others about the operation. Eventually they do find the right room and captures Matt and save H.R.G. Peter, however, comes from the sky and picks up Matt. They fly off into the sky while the soldiers look on. It looked as though that H.R.G. was all for the entire operation. By episode’s end, he proves that his only loyalty is to Angela and her cause. Whatever it is, it has to be good.

This episode was good to watch. The flashbacks gave us information that we could probably guess but was shot and acted well. I was hoping for more shock value but seeing H.R.G. the victim was shock enough. For the first time in a long time, I enjoyed seeing Matt Parkman on screen. His character had purpose and now knowing that Daphne is alive, he will stop at nothing to get her back. He may even blow up Washington D.C to do it!
