Hereos finally returns with brand new episodes. It also has returned with a brand new volume. It is called Fugitives and looks promising. Will it hold our interests for the next few weeks? Only time will tell but from the looks of things, it just might.

The show opens with Ali Larter looking very seductive. She is talking on the phone with her new boy toy while Nathan is on the tube secretly explaining his “plan”. Ali Larter gives us a little tease until a group of soldiers barge in and attacks her. She tries to fight back but to no prevail. They  kidnap her like they would a feisty dog. At least she looked cute while it happened. She wasn’t the only one who got kidnapped though.

Matt Parkman and Daphne seems to be living the life.  They both have dead end jobs that barely keeps the rent together, Daphne wants to use her powers but Matt won’t let her, and they have a little girl to raise. Oh wait they forgot about her, my bad.  Matt didn’t forget was Usutu though. How could he? He is his spiritual guide. It seems as though Matt Parkman has been chosen to be the new Issac. He is learning to paint the future because it is his new destiny. I know he gets dumber storylines every new volume. He winds up getting kidnapped as well. You could tell that was the most action he has seen a long time.

Peter is out in the world doing what he does best. Whining, complaining, and beating himself up for things that aren’t his fault. He is now an EMT. It fits his personality because he does care about people. When he finds out Nathan is rounding up people with special abilities, his only conclusion is he’s trying to talk to him. You would think after their past conversations, he would have learned his lesson. Nathan tricks Peter once again and kidnaps him. How many times is this boy going to play the fool?

Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet

Mohinder is guilty of this as well. He has returned to his old job of being a cab driver and gives free rides to Peter. He gets an unexpected visitor and is forced to drive himself to his own butt kicking. Mohinder still has his powers and manages to escape. That was until he trusted H.R.G. and got kidnapped again. He thought that H.R.G. was on his side and so did I. I’ve always like the H.R.G. character but something tells me they are going to find a way to mess his character up. My bet would be on the writers hypocrisy. Why would he work with the company that is rounding up people with special abilities when he has a daughter with one? Maybe he made some sort of deal, who knows. I just hope his character remains a badass.

Did Sylar survive the explosion. The answer would be yes and I’m actually glad. Sylar was one of the few people worth watching. He is on a quest to find his real parents. He gets information from his fake father and realizes it wasn’t a lie. Sylar was going to kill him but he quickly changed his mind. It seems as though his soul is to find his true parents. He was so close too. The soldiers were already at the house waiting for Sylar. They jump on him and tries to take him down but to no prevail. Sylar beats them like they were his children. Sylar was the only one that they did not get.

Over in japan, Hiro is trying to teach Ando to be a superhero. Ando doesn’t like the get-up but enjoys the motor cycle. After all it is a chick magnet. Hiro was trying to give him a motivated speech until he was rudely interrupted. Ando tries to save him but arrived too late. Can Ando save Hiro from the clutches of the law? At episode’s end, he may not have to.

Nathan arranged for all the captives to be deported to their site of torture. What he did not arrange was for Claire to be one of them. He sets her free but that turned out to be a big mistake for him. She finds a way back on the plane and frees some of them. It looks like Peter doesn’t have his own powers back and can only absorb other peoples powers for a short time. He misuses Tracy’s power and blows open a hole in the plane. The episode ends with the plane going down and Peter on his way out the hole.

This episode was decent at best. This storyline had potential to be a success but I wasn’t drown into it. Very few scenes grabbed my attention and it got to the point where I didn’t want to watch it anymore. The acting seemed flat and there was little emotion being shown from the actors. You could tell that they were acting and not feeling the moment. I’m going to assume next week that the show will start getting emotional deeper. Who survived the plane crash and what excuse will H.R.G give Claire now that she knows what he is up to?
