It’s no secret that Jack (Matthew Fox) had been getting suck, but it wasn’t obvious what his problem was. After some time had passed, it was clear that Jack was in poor shape. It’s a damn good thing Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Bernard (Sam Anderson) were both there to help remove his appendix.

Matthew Fox as Jack Shephard, Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet Burke
Charlotte (Rebecca Mader) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) had an interesting little exchange at one point in this episode that I found fascinating initially. When I first watched this episode last year, I never noticed that Charlotte was picking up on what Jin was saying in Korean. I’m curious about where Charlotte learned the language. It’s not a language which is spoken by very many people, relatively speaking, of course.
The future scenes of Hurley (Jorge Garcia), Kate (Evangeline Lilly), and Jack were all interesting to see. We see that Jack has changed his mind about spending time with Kate and Aaron, but it didn’t take long for problems to creep in. Jack thought that Kate was doing things behind his back and then his encounters with Hurley and Christian (John Terry) sent him over the top. Jack is a broken man now.

John Terry as Christian Shephard
That little trek through the jungle with Miles (Ken Leung), Sawyer (Josh Holloway), and Claire (Emilie de Ravin) proved to be more eventful than I was expecting. Not only did Miles find the bodies of Karl (Blake Bashoff) and Danielle Rousseau (Mira Furlan), but Claire also went missing in the middle of the night, apparently following Christian. The reappearance of Christian was really creepy, but I really enjoy his presence on screen. There’s something very intriguing about him.
