It’s only the second episode of the season and Scrubs gave us our first tear jerker of the season. Scrubs is no stranger to episodes where the patients are faced with the fact that they’re going to die; we’ve seen this type of episode before, but the writers do a great job of making us want to see it again.

This is a bold move on the part of the crew because this season is somewhat limited in episodes, so you would think that the writers would want to fill every episode with as much drama as possible; apparently not. We’re basically given a three-man show this episode and it works out great.

Donald Faison as Dr. Christopher Turk

J.D. and Turk are excited about their annual steak night until they meet George, a patient who is going to die but has no family to visit them. Turk and J.D. cancel their steak night and talk to him in an effort to help him get over his fear of dying and accept it. By the end of the episode we come to really like George. The writers did a good job getting us to care and get attached to a patient who we knew was going to die from the beginning.

It’s another episode that talks about what everyone goes through in their life and it’s the fear of dying. J.D. and Turk give their opinions on what they think it’s like when they die and this episode is go good it might put your doubts to rest a little.

Credit has to be given to Glynn Turman who gives a great performance, as well as Braff and Faison who all did a great job acting for the whole episode. There wasn’t much else in terms of story or plots except this one, but the comedy that we love was still in the episode. We did get to see more of Jo who really comes off annoying and we can only hope that sooner or later, her rudeness will catch up with her; and hopefully we find out her obsession with chubby guys.

This was simply a great episode and an emotional one; something Scrubs has done quite a few times before, but able to make every patient somehow different. It’s a great episode that adds to what could be scrubs best season yet.
