I can understand why an episode of Farscape like this one can be considered a disappointment, but I liked it for one reason and one reason only: it actually talked about Rygel’s history. Rygel may not be a legendary warrior or anything too fascinating, but I do enjoy learning about his history as well as the history of his people.

Seeing Crichton in that full beard was something I wasn’t expecting. That fake facial hair was just terrible. It more closely resembled animal hair than a human beard in my opinion.

Just cut off Crichton’s beard not his head.

A lot of this episode reminded me of some of the few episodes I’ve seen of Stargate. It focused on the main characters as they visited another planet and ended up helping them. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it just seems a little cookie cutter.

Still, I really enjoyed this episode primarily because of the backstory of the locals. They were essentially banished by Rygel’s family. We got to see a little genuine emotion out of the fat little slug this week when he showed he honestly felt sorry about what happened to the people of the planet. Of course, the threats of death also can help bring emotions out too. Hehe.
