Following the Scylla holder, Lincoln Burrows finds himself working alongside with Gretchen, Don Self, T-Bag, and eventually Alexander Mahone. There was plenty of tension amongst this little group. No one really trusts one another and there’s quite a bit of pressure on each of them to get Scylla back. They get very close at one point, only to get set up. Lincoln almost gets shot within the first few minutes of the episode, making for an exciting setup to the episode.

While Lincoln and his new “friends” were busy in Miami, Sara Tancredi was put in a hotel by the general. She’s understandably restless. Whenever she’s not around Michael, she seems to get this way. It only gets irritating once in a while. Michael is being held 60 miles out of L.A. in a little house in the wilderness. The company is trying to recruit him to join. The doctor doing the recruiting introduces a very surprising revelation: Michael & Lincoln’s mother is still alive. This fact didn’t seem to weigh down the episode a whole lot, but Michael’s discussions with the doctor after this were boring as hell. I can see why he would not want to believe that his mother is still alive, but Michael’s conversation style has gotten decidedly boring recently. He never makes eye contact, always uses sarcasm, and generally irritates the hell out of me.

Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield

Michael’s not the only one who’s still bothering me. The big, hulking Lincoln has gotten even more one-dimensional. If he’s not running around, threatening people, he’s sleeping. And since he’s never shown sleeping, you get my point. Lincoln’s constant bullying and threatening has gotten old, as has much of the other stuff on the show. Honestly, these characters act unbelievably macho; there can’t possibly be a woman working in the show’s writing room.

After tracking down the Scylla buyer, it didn’t take Gretchen long to get over her head. I can’t believe she didn’t come to that meeting without some sort of body armor. The guy said exactly what he intended to do: shoot her in the chest and take his chances. And that’s exactly what he did. Gretchen got shot in the chest and was left to fend for herself. But it looks like the police will get to her before she dies.

The show ended with quite a shocker. The real buyer of Scylla is Lincoln & Michael’s mother. I honestly never saw that coming. I am glad that she was at least shown. She looks to be played by Kathleen Quinlan.

I’m sort of torn about how the show’s going to end. Prison Break is off for a bit with the new year approaching, but I can sort of already see the “why did you leave us” questions coming. I really hope that the writers bring about a satisfactory conclusion to Prison Break, but I don’t really see one at this point. The show’s gone on far longer than it should have.
