This episode had its ups and downs. Unfortunately there are more downs than ups. This episode begins with Hiro getting brainwashed by Arthur. Ando had a few failed attempts trying to save him but he kept on getting flung away. Arthur got distracted by a painting and Ando was able to break his grasp. Hiro and Ando were able to escape before Arthur can get them. Too bad Arthur did his damage and made Hiro a 10 year old kid! This is where Hiro and Ando became a waste of time. As cute as these two were during Hiro’s antics, it still took away from the episode. Their storyline wasn’t needed and they could have used their talents for something different. Let’s hope next week that he gets his memory back so they can get back in the ball game.

Peter and Claire got caught up trying to get away from Flint and Knox. This was the most boring part of the entire episode. Peter with no powers and Claire with no fighting ability made this a waste of time. All she did was tell Peter to run and jump out of windows. She tried to act tough but all it did was make me want to laugh. Claire being a tough chick is like Hannah Montana doing a duet with DMX. It’s just isn’t happening. They finally get away from them only to land themselves in the paper factory. They meet up with Nathan, Matt, Daphne, and Angela. Yes Angela is awake. You can thank Matt for that. He went toe to toe with Arthur and came out alive and with the old woman. It did have its price though. He found out that Daphne was working for him all along but Matt didn’t seem to care. He forgives Daphne like a fool and succeeds with his conquest.

Zachary Quinto as Sylar

Before Nathan reached the paper factory, he had a short conversation with his father. His dad pulled a Linderman on him and tried to get him on his side. Nathan wasn’t falling for it this time and shrugged his father off. Too bad his lady friend Tracy fell into Arthur’s grip. She was willing agreed to join his team and betray Nathan. The writers tried to pull it off by saying it was part of her personality but everything they showed us from the beginning was the opposite. She was caring and full of grief. She was a bit of a slut but her heart was in the right place. It makes no sense for her to just jump on the villain side because she thinks they are going to win. That is just bad and lazy writing and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Speaking of bad writing, what was up with that whole Sylar and Elle storyline? They get locked up in a long dungeon-like room that reminded me of a long hallway that was seen on OZ. Sylar allowed her to take all her anger out on him for killing her father. Most of the episode was him asking for forgiveness and her lighting him up. She finally gets tired of it and asks him to kill her. He doesn’t but he finds a new way to take her power! He can take them by using empathy. Excuse me while I go puke in the toilet!

I’m sorry, but that made me want to gag. They are truly making Sylar into a little wimp. To make matters worse, he didn’t even take her powers – he mimicked them! Wait, there is more. They actually had the audacity to hook them up again. How can you hook up with a man that killed your father? I don’t care how sorry he is. I would never be friends let alone potential lovers with someone who chopped my dad’s head off. That’s ridiculous!

Despite the bad writing, the two actors Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto made these scenes watchable. Their chemistry and acting ability made it better than what it actually was. I don’t think any other two actors could of made this crap into something watchable.

Like I said in the beginning, this episode had its ups and downs. The ups were the awaking of Angela and Nathan getting a backbone. I have to put Kristen and Zachary chemistry as a plus since these two are the reason why I’m not giving it a low score. The downs were the bad writing, Claire’s bad acting, Mohinder and Tracy’s character misjudgments, and the no showing of H.R.G! How dare they not have an episode with him in it? Oh yeah and Claire is once again the center of attention? Bad idea!

It looks like next week the heroes are going to lose their powers and become human. I wonder how they are going to pull this off without losing viewership and a possible cancellation. If they fail with next week episode, it’s going to be bye bye Heroes. The audience has spoken and they are not happy.

I actually thought this was one of the better episodes of the season. The elle and Sylar thing worked, because they had a history beforehand and elle and sylar didn’t kiss or anything, plus I believe in an earlier episode wasn’t elle adopted, he kind of turned her in to what she is now. A powerless peter blows, but I like how Claire is starting to hurl herself out of windows and using her powers to escape now. The only part I do agree with is that hiro and Ando was kind of lame. Hiro aside from not being as serious didn’t seem that much different and it was just a waste of time to have the two around. Plus did you notice the 9th wonder comic book, who’s making it now? because Isaac was the one making them and he’s dead.
