This episode picks up in Peter’s hospital bed. It looks like he did survive his fall. He wakes up with his brother standing over him. Nathan is in denial about what really happened and he tries to convince Peter that it was a suicide attempt. Their mother even chimed in and tells Peter that his father killed himself and she fears that he is going the same route. Peter doesn’t buy the bull and tells Nathan on top of a rooftop, that he wants the truth or he is going to jump again. In anger, he walks toward Nathan but not on the roof’s ceiling, he’s walking on the air itself! At that point, Nathan had no other choice but to admit the truth to Peter and himself. He was probably thinking “I hope this doesn’t affect my votes.”
For a second episode in a row, Mohinder walks in on someone in his apartment. The guy lies and tries to flee but bumps into Eden McCain, played by Nora Zehetner. Mohinder follows suit and begins to wrestle with the guy. She picks up the gun and points at both Mohinder and the intruder. She realizes that the intruder was a liar and he throws Mohinder into her while he escapes. Eden befriends Mohinder and helps him find clues about his father’s death. Mohinder found a message from Sylar that makes him believe that he murdered his father. Eden was able to find something very important that will help Mohinder’s cause. What will Mohinder do with his new found information? Only time will tell.
Niki remains in a whole lot of trouble. She seems to be losing her mind. She killed Linderman’s boys and buried them in the desert. It looks as though she did it a few times. Her son and her red haired friend are worried about her and they don’t know what to think. Is she losing her mind or is she growing another personality? And what’s up with her husband DL? Is he really all that bad? This girl has a lot of problems and questions to deal with. I wonder if she is strong enough to keep it together. Probably not!

Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli
Over in Texas, Claire Bennet is still hiding from her powers. An officer came to her school to find the cheerleader that saved his life. Claire was nervous and didn’t want to be found out. Luckily another cheerleader took her place but not due to the goodness of her heart but due to the selfishness of her soul. This girl is cold as ice. Claire does find a love interest though in a handsome quarterback. They mostly flirt but only after he almost kills her! Don’t worry, it was an accident… really! It’s obvious that Claire is a daddy’s girl but after Mr. Bennet, played by Jack coleman, finds out that his adopted daughter has special abilities, he may no longer feel the same way about her. It’s cool though because Claire is looking for her birth parents for answers. Will she find them or will daddy just make something up? I don’t think this daddy is going to be cool!
There is a new character introduced in this episode. His name is Matt Parkman, played by Greg Grunberg. He has the ability to read minds. He uses it to find a little girl who is hiding from Sylar. It looks like this boy gets around. He overhears the police mention his name several times. During questioning, he mentions it to an FBI agent played by Clea Duvall. She tells him only a handful of people know that name and she wonders how a cop like him would know it. She takes him in after he tries to explain himself. This character could be interesting if they use him the right way. They picked a good actor to play this role so I believe it will work out. You can’t go wrong with reading minds… can you?
Hiro is in the future having some fun. He steals a comic book that features he and Andy. It is drawn by Issac mendez! He goes to his apartment to ask him about it but instead of meeting him, he finds him dead with the top portion of his head cut off! The police charge in and question Hiro. Hiro still believes he is in the present until they call up his good friend Andy who explains that he has been missing for 5 weeks. Hiro goes into a calm frenzy and then a bomb goes off destroying everything in sight. Hiro returns back to the present before he is killed. The show ends with Hiro back on the train with a blank expression. I believe this scene was meant to show how the viewers at home looked when the bomb goes off, just absolutely in shock.
This episode was good. Almost everything seemed in place with the exception of the Issac and Simone scene. It felt like to me that both actors weren’t feeling the scene. It seemed forced instead of it happening naturally. I thought that scene could have been much better. Other than that, this was a solid piece of work. I hope the next episode is just as good as this one!
