It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia likes finding a topic and figuring out just how stupid the gang can get with it. This week when Paddys get robbed, the guys decide to get a gun. Bringing a gun into these three guy’s lives is one of the stupidest things to do, but it provides us with some good laughs.

The opening scene to the show is always one of the best moments of the show. It always starts off with a topic that’s seemingly rational and then ends with one of the gang saying the stupidest responses. Thinking of how they’re going to get their safe back, Mac’s obvious answer is “we need to get a gun”. Once we’re introduced to sweet Dee’s boyfriend, Colin, played by Michael Rosenbaum, we could be fairly certain that the culprit was him.

In the beginning, Mac and Dennis bought the gun to protect the bar, but once they bought it, they were taken over by Gun Fever and just wanted to shoot it off anywhere. Charlie, who was opposed to the gun since the very beginning caught the fever in the worst way as he wanted to shoot it just like Dennis and Mac. Charlie took it one step further though by taking it to his house and using it to intimidate his landlord into giving him more time to pay his rent. Even after four episodes of seeing them do dumb things, it’s still surprising when they continue to do stupid things. The gun trick did seem to work though, because the landlord backed off and Charlie got more time to get the money back.

Once the Mac and Dennis put the clues together, they too were able to figure out that it was Colin who was doing all the robberies in town. Mac and Dennis, putting on their best Hardy Boys routine, see Colin at another bar romancing another bartender. Mac and Dennis decide to confront him, but trying not to let on that they know who’s the thief. It becomes very funny watching as the two execute their plan of telling Colin where they keep their money and trying to lure him to the bar so they can catch him in the act. They were so obvious also, that it wouldn’t have been surprising if Colin had caught on.

They set the trap and then wait at the bar for the intruder to come in and he does, the thief tries to get away and Dennis ends up shooting him in the head. The intruder ended up being Charlie. It’s funny how Charlie robbing the place got put on the backburner and Dennis ended up being the guy the others were mad at for shooting Charlie, even though Dee and Mac were telling him to shoot. The crew wasn’t even mad at Charlie for his stupid plan though and they actually were more disappointed that Charlie didn’t tell him he was strapped for cash. The scene in which they’re all in the room with Charlie does show that while they’re idiots, they all do love each other like family.

In the end, we hear Colin talking to Dee as he’s robbing the place. Things got a bit confusing here, because we weren’t necessarily sure if Colin was the one who robbed the place the first time, but it seems safe to say yes. The gang forgot to ask Charlie whether he robbed the place the first time, then maybe it could have been all avoided.

This was another good episode, there were less laugh out loud moments this episode then previous episodes, but watching this group of people never gets old and so far is always entertaining. Giving a gun to these guys was one of the worst things that the writers could have done, but it luckily for us viewers it’s entertaining.
