Another Bigfoot episode! I was very pleased to have a chance to watch “Legend of the Hairy Beast” this week. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a firm believer in the existence of Bigfoot (or Yeti or Sasquatch or whatever you want to call it). I’ve recorded several episodes on the subject of Bigfoot and I can never get enough.

But when watching them, it’s hard not to find fault with investigating techniques. But that’s true with all episodes in this series, not just those related to Bigfoot. The bags of salmon dangling from the trees were enough to make me laugh.

I wasn’t the least bit surprised when the camera traps revealed a hungry bear had taken the salmon fillets. They may as well have tossed them on the ground for the bears and just hoped a Bigfoot would come strolling by.

MonsterQuest - Legend of the Hairy Beast
Native American Drawings Depicting Bigfoot (Hairy Man)

Unlike previous Bigfoot-themed episodes, “Legend of the Hairy Beast” was presented with more of a Native American perspective. Nearly every tribe has stories of the creature. There were drawings presented on the show which dated at least 500 years before any Europeans came over to North America, which shows that the story of Bigfoot was here long before the Europeans traveled here.

I didn’t care for the search for Bigfoot aspect of the episode as much as I did the stories presented. The Native Americans have passed down a lot of interesting stories over the many generations and I thought this was a good forum for them, but still, there could have been more time dedicated to that.
