Just the other day, Warner DVD let it be known that the classic animated series The Flintstones would be made available in a complete DVD box set. This isn’t like some of those sets that you may come across on Amazon and other sites where they grab a bunch of sets and shrink-wrap them together and mark the price down.

Warner is going to the trouble of making custom packaging and it seems that they’ve done a very nice job, judging by the picture they sent to the media. All six seasons of the show will be presented in a gift box made to resemble a Bedrock-style television set, with a lenticular screen.

There will be also a bunch of extras included. What that entails isn’t yet known, but for me, I get a little concerned about these features.

I always get a little ticked when companies offer bonus features on complete collections. My problem is when they are exclusive bonus features. Those of us who buy each set as it is released won’t get access to those features unless we buy the complete set too.

When the MacGyver complete box set included the made-for-tv movies, I was really upset. They aren’t available to the general public on their own yet. The only way to get them is by buying the complete series set.

Anyway, you can pre-order the set on DVDEmpire for just over $100, much less per season than if you were to have bought each season individually.
