Before ABC premiered Wipeout, a lot of us had a lot of fun watching MXC (aka Most Extreme Challenge) on SpikeTV. For the unfamiliar, the series takes footage from the Japanese series Takeshi’s Castle, edits it, and replaces the audio with a hysterical commentary track. Not a single word of the original dialogue is present in the finished product.
MXC, which has contestants jumping over things, trying to run through walls, etc is very similar to the Wipeout series ABC airs right now. SpikeTV took a shot at ABC by announcing they would have a marathon of MXC shows this weekend (July 5-6). The marathon has been appropriately named “MXC, The Original, Not The Ripoff, Weekend”.

Check your local listings for the times. It’s a show I would recommend at least taking a look at. The humor is rather funny, though admittedly juvenile.
