“A Hit is a Hit” strayed away from a lot of the stories that have been going on the last couple of episodes. There was no Junior or any hits, except for at the very beginning. This episode had Christopher and Adriana venturing into the music business. Adriana’s ex plays in a band that she’s interested in trying to sign to a label which is owned by MC G, a gangster rapper who also owns his own label. Turns out the band isn’t very good and Mc G had just basically been telling Adriana what she wanted to hear to get in her pants. Christopher tries to tell her this, but she thinks Christopher is just jealous and is attempting to hold her back.

This was the first episode to focus a lot on Adriana and Christopher. There’s not much to say about there relationship. It’s not exactly like Carmella and Tony’s, since it’s new. Christopher and Adriana’s relationship seems pretty okay from the outside, but it’s obvious that they don’t have the solidity that Carmella and Tony does. They don’t seem to know each other very well, so there’s really nothing too interesting about them.

The other storyline involved Tony branching out and actually getting to know the neighbors. Tony soon realizes that the only reason that the neighbors really want to hang out with him is because they want to hear about the mob and ask questions. Tony takes this pretty well, considering how quick tempered he can be, but plays the ultimate trick. Tony soon just starts going with it, and making up stories about hanging with John Gotti, but he gives Dr. Cusumano a package only filled with Sand, but tells him to hold on to it, but don’t open it and it’s funny watching the Dr’s face as he probably thinks it’s a finger or something.

So not the most interesting episode of the season, but it wasn’t all bad. Tony interacting with the other neighbors was interesting, and even Tony attempting to socialize with other people who are in the organization shows that Tony is trying to do new things. The few scenes we did get with Dr. Melfi were good, but overall the episode was just okay. The next time they decide to focus on Christopher and Adriana, it’d be nice if they made the story a little bit more interesting.
