TVShowsonDVD.com has been following the announcement that the entire series of MacGyver would be coming out in one release. MacGyver was a big favorite of mine when I was a kid and I’ve since seen the show several times thanks to repeats a few years ago on cable. I currently own every season of MacGyver that has been released with the exception of just one season. I’m currently debating whether or not to sell my individual season sets on eBay and purchase the big complete series pack. Why?

It depends on whether or not the made-for-tv movies will come with the complete series pack. Once concern I have is that they will and that Paramount will not make them available for purchase separately. It would be a big mistake for them to do this, but studios do make mistakes with DVD releases, so I’m not ruling anything out. Personally, I’d prefer studios to go ahead with the complete series packs and not release individual seasons at all for shows that have already ended. I’ve seen several shows that have stopped being released on DVD because DVD sales have been “too slow” for the studios to continue releasing the DVDs. When this happens, it just frustrates the hell out of me.
