With NASA having problems, Jon can’t help but offer his opinion that if he were in that situation, he’d be scared shi*less.

John got right to the news – King Fahd of Saudi Arabia passed away this past week. His health has been poor for the past few years, so it wasn’t a surprising passing.

They used a “translator” for the King Fahd piece, which for some reason, just had to discuss the new set. Jon found that kind of ironic.

Stephen Colbert was up next with a segment on the recent energy bill which got passed in the House/Senate. He was able to display a nice little chart. Unfortunately, this segment wasn’t all that funny.

Ed Helms was next with a report on the military’s recruiting problems. Ed seeks the opinion of an advertising expert and tries to figure out how to make “getting shot at, sexy”. Eventually he goes to the KISS army for opinions. This segment was slightly better than the energy bill segment.

The last bit was John Crawford, author of The Last True Story I’ll Ever Tell. Crawford wrote the book in two stages, while he was in Iraq and within a few months of returning home. Jon found that because of that, the book was raw and gripping. Crawford talked about how some of his buddies are going back to Iraq for the Blackwater security contractor.

The show wasn’t great, as my summary mentioned.
